Members of the group Mormons for Trump are concerned about a trend among LDS church faithful to support third-party candidates like Evan McMullin. They say the push to vote your conscience is unwittingly helping to put Democrat Hillary Clinton in the White House.
McMullin has undoubtedly benefited from the recent controversies surrounding Republican Presidential Candidate Donald Trump. The 40 year old former CIA officer told KUER last week after the video of Trump speaking crudely about women surfaced, interest in his own presidential campaign intensified.
For all those people who wondered why we were so adamant that Donald Trump must not be the next president of the United States, I think a lot of people are realizing that we were correct in that and are giving us a very good look right now, McMullin said.
A recent poll by Y-2 Analytics shows Hillary Clinton and Donald trump tied in Utah with 26 percent. McMullins numbers have soared to 22 percent. He could potentially capture Utahs six electoral votes.
Utah Actor and filmmaker Darin Southam heads up Mormons for Trump. He says Trump, as an outsider is the only person who can take on Washington corruption and face problems head on.
Hes just what we prayed for but hes just not the package that we can accept, Southam says. And the package we can accept is the perfect person, who never speaks out of line, who has a straight tie and who goes to church and takes his sacrament every week.
Most importantly, Southam says Trump has shown he can win and withstand ongoing attacks.
Milt Romley won’t be happy about this.
According to Wikileaks, McMuffin was on the Clinton payroll. Service provided: Voter Suppression.
If Egg McMuffin gets anywhere near the number of votes they are projecting it will result in Mormons being viewed like they were after the Meadow Mountain Massacre.
Do they want that?
I like how they cite that poll, but ignore the one from Monmouth for Utah, that was conducted on the same exact days.
If you look at RCP for Utah, no other poll had Trump below 34% support there. The 26% this poll has for Clinton fits all the others, but it's clear they're giving Trump a much smaller number than absolutely everyone else.
Polls will say whatever you want them too. Heck, tell me what you want to see, pay me $20 grand, and I’ll go out and keep asking people questions until I get the results you want ;)
“Milt Romley wont be happy about this.”
No he will not McMullin is his boy. I hope this is successful.
Did the Caillou look-alike even find a running mate, or was it like the show where he whined until his parents found him a playdate?
I’m all for unconventional candidates running for president, I am not a supporter of sore loser prop candidates.
Uh, that would be Mountain Meadow; but other than that your comment is spot on.
I have some Mormon relatives in Western Colorado and Utah. They think if they can get McMullin to get the Utah electoral votes that Paul Ryan will award this guy the Presidency. Making me mad.
I’ve always been polite to the Mormons that come to my door.
If they succeed in costing Trump the election they better have magic underwear.
Thanks for the correction
I’m glad I have German Shepherdss.
Brave of them considering how Mormoms shun those that don’t goose step with the rest of the group.
If the voters in Utah go for Clinton, they will have Macycied themselves with a lot of Trump supporters.
We and our clan will never buy any Utah products or services in Utah or owned or controlled by the Beck Mormons!
Do some research. They own a lot of companies.
Order an Egg McMullin breakfast and get a free Clintonburger with Kaine sauce.
Interesting considering the LDS prophet (First Presidency) issued a statement today basically telling LDS to vote for McMullin.
I didn’t realize so many Mormons are morons.
