The former head of an influential pro-gun lobbying group said over the weekend that losing the White House could mean pro-gun activists have to resort to the bullet box to protect the Second Amendment.
In a conversation on his Gun Owners News Hour, Larry Pratt, executive director emeritus of Gun Owners of America, interviewed Robert Knight, a fellow at the conservative American Civil Rights Union, who said a Democrat taking the White House and replacing the late Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia would pose great peril to gun rights.
At that point, we would have to come to an understanding, which weve been sort of taught, its been taught out of us, that the courts do not have the last word on what the Constitution is, Pratt said on the show, in remarks first flagged by RightWingWatch.
And we may have to reassert that constitutional balance, and it may not be pretty," he continued. "So, Id much rather have an election where we solve this matter at the ballot box than have to resort to the bullet box.
Knight replied, Well, theres impeachment, too.
Pratt previously made veiled references to gun violence as the leader of Gun Owners of America. He once said the Second Amendment was designed for people like President Obama and recently made a similar remark about Obamas Supreme Court nominee, Judge Merrick Garland.

The SCOTUS can declare the 2nd Amd now refers only to active duty military as the “new militia,” that does not make it so.
We have eyes to read and brains to understand the words of the Bill of Rights.
We don’t need 5/9 black-robed seers to interpret simple English for us.
If the SCOTUS tries to use lies to disarm us, they are traitors, and they are in breach of contract.
The GOP has the House, the Senate, the majority of state legislatures and likely will have the Presidency in 2017. Then what will their excuse be?

If it happens we might see some tragic boating accidents where someones firearms get accidentally dumped.
That bridge can always be crossed if we come to it. With all due respect Pratt should just shut up about it and work to elect Trump.
There is only one way to deal with traitors.
Thanks for the tip.
We are being drawn out. The Left is baiting the stupid to say something stupid and hoping we attract a little surveillance.
We all need to be a little cautious between now and November.
I live so close to FEMA Region VI headquarters that they could send somebody over with a wheelbarrow to scoop me up.
I agree. They’d like nothing more than to send the Secret Service into the lives of conservatives. After all, they send the IRS, the EPA, the FBI, the Education Deptmt, and even the freaking Mooch of the Month Menu for lunch.
It’s a last resort. No need to openly discuss. It’s somewhat alarming to snowflakes.
Which will create folks who will do “civil disobedience”.
Right now, the best way to stand up to the radical left is to support Mr. Trump.
If you have to hide them, it is time to use them.
Fixed it for you...
Or,.....they get dried off and go find some traitors.
Larry Pratt is right. Nobody including the SCOTUS is going to take our second amendment rights but we might have to forcibly protect them at some point.
Why should he “shut his mouth”? Do you wish for him to become like the lawyers in the lobbying group known as the NRA?
The NRA is to gun owners what Al Sharpton is for blacks.
Without the issue they would dry up like he turds they are.
Our gun rights come from the Constitution but the NRA will gladly trade them away for you as they have done numerous times in the past.
Pratt is speaking to the actual reason the Second Anemdment exists.
Is that to PC to talk about these days? Even is conservatives are plagued with PC indoctrination.
This person should keep his mouth shut. Not because he isn’t speaking truth, but because he should not telegraph anything. This is as stupid as the Beck-Thor conversation about a “patriot” taking out Trump.
Waters around here are up to 1300feet. And you’d have to know where to look; one hundred miles long and a mile wide in some places.
