Good. Assad is not a nice guy. He is a tyrant but he is no threat to the US. This is exactly what Trump was talking about last night about not imposing Western style democracies on regions and nations that have no interest in democratic structures. I think the Trump theme was more along the lines of make the world safe for America. Let someone else make it safe for global democracy if they wish.

Russia entered the Syrian Civil War at the right time. When both sides are seriously depleted. Similiar situation in 1917 when the influx of fresh American troops decided the outcome of WWI.
The sooner the “rebel” groups are eliminated, the better off everyone else will be. We’re just beginning to see the consequences of the refugee flow from this conflict.
