Mark Levin to #NeverTrumpers: The “Stop Trump” effort must not extend to the general election
Hot Air ^ | April 6, 2016 | Allahpundit

Via Breitbart and the Right Scoop, you can grumble about this if you’re #NeverTrump but we all understand, I think, that the vast, vast majority of the party will come around to his position by November, right? Don’t get me wrong, stalwart anti-Trumpers may have the numbers to fatally damage Trump’s chances even if they’re just five percent of the electorate. But that’s probably what they’ll be — five percent, not a third of the party despite how much fun it is to ooh and ahh over numbers like that. Never underestimate the power of partisanship, especially when you’ve got a Democrat as unlikable as Hillary topping the other ticket.

And even if five percent of Republicans do end up as #NeverTrumpers, that’s not necessarily a death sentence for Trump’s campaign. Why? Because some segment of Bernie fans claim that they’re #NeverHillary:

One out of four Sanders supporters– 25 percent – say they would not back Clinton in a general election if she became the Democratic nominee for president, while just 69 percent say they would support her, according to a new McClatchy-Marist poll.

By comparison, Clinton supporters are considerably more open to supporting Sanders should he overtake her large lead in delegates and win the nomination. Just 14 percent of Clinton supporters would shun him in the general election, while 79 percent would support him, the poll found.

What’s the actual number of Sanders supporters who’d sit out an election with either Trump or Cruz, both of whom will be painted by Democrats as unprecedented threats to the republic, as GOP nominee? Two percent? Remember all the Hillary fans who vowed after 2008’s bitter primary to loss to Obama that they’d never vote for him for president? How’d that work out?

Anyway, click the image to listen to a preview of what conservative media’s apt to sound like this fall if Trump seals the deal in Cleveland. Levin has endorsed Cruz and has fiercely criticized Trump over the past few months (even over the Michelle Fields incident, which is unusual in major conservative media) but he’s prepared to set that aside in the name of beating Clinton. I wonder where Glenn Beck, Trump’s most strident critic in conservative talk radio dating back to last year, is on that. If anyone’s going to carry the #NeverTrump banner to the bitter end, it’s him.

Yes, how unfortunate these ‘Conservatives’ toss aside our Constitution to form ‘a more perfect Union’ under a President who is not NBC. Mark Levin and Rush Limbaugh are no conservative spokes people...at least not when it comes time to face facts using our Constitution as a guide. What is it with these wise scholars? Drinking far too much kool-ade?

I am basing it on Trump’s latest lapses. He says he didn’t expect to win Wisconsin, but oh, yeah, he did.

That loss hurt him big time in his quest for the numbers.

The Reuters poll, worshipped by Drudge and Trump, has changed leaders.

According to the Reuters poll, Trump started to crater, rather than Cruz simple rising, on March 27.

This decline reflects last week when Trump was finally called to heel on his scurrilous attack on Heidi Cruz, when his campaign manager was arrested for assault, and when he committed all manner of other douchebaggery.

It seems like the voters have finally had all the fun they can handle. It is also interesting that Kasich suffered a decline corresponding to Cruz taking the lead.

This could indicate that a gradual decision is being made by Republicans to fall in line behind Cruz, despite any philosophical differences they may have with him.

After the thrashing Trump took in Wisconsin we’ll get a feel for what the poll measures.

Remember, Amanda Carpenter was very specific in calling out “those so-called conservatives and Republicans endorsing Donald Trump”.

Amanda: “I’d like to remember who supported Trump so I never give any kind of credence to their judgment. “Never Trump” means never those who support him as well.”

See more at: https://www.conservativereview.com/commentary/2016/03/blackballing-those-who-endorse-trump#sthash.1yV3bZuT.dpuf

Some of those whose judgment Amanda will never give credence to, again:

Rick Scott, Florida Governor
Jeff Sessions, Alabama Senator
Jan Brewer, Arizona Governor
Phyllis Schlafly, Eagle Forum
Ben Carson, Former Candidate

She was praised for being brave in making this list. If she had any real friends, one of them would have smacked her and told her to stfu.

Morally, paying taxes and donating to politicians to leave you alone are equivalent.

Nah, taxes are theoretically for providing for the common good of the civil society (and no more). Greasing a pol for favors is not morally the same even if it IS the accepted way of doing business.

The donations were to democrats because they were in power. If those in power were Republicans, the donations would’ve been to Republicans.

Doesn't matter, unethical no matter who the players are.

That said, I suspect Trump really didn't distinguish about the morality, he just played the game he knew to play. He made a choice and now must live with the consequences of supplying sustenance to the machine. Doubt it really hurts him much ethically or intellectually.

I probably won’t tune in to Levin much if Trump wins the nomination. Hell I probably will just tune out altogether. Trump’s a joke. But I just might tune in after the election in November just to see you completely melt down. Now that will be entertaining.

Guess we’ll never know what Ted does because he does most of his dirty deeds in secret and much of his past is sealed.

All those millions of dollars Mr. Cruz is receiving from donors, there are many strings attached to that money and Ted knows it.

On that we can both agree, but Cruz can’t think he can cozy up to the Establishment and get our vote!

So let me get this thread straight:

A lot of Trump supporters are furious that the GOP-E may abandon Trump if he wins the nomination, and give the election to Hillary.

So along comes Levin, says how much he dislikes Trump, but that those who dislike Trump nevertheless have to vote for him in the general election to make sure Hillary doesn't get elected.

And the response from a bunch of Trump supporters to Levin saying people should vote for Trump in the general election is "screw him and all of you people -- we don't need you."

What the hell is wrong with the people saying that in this thread?? They'd prefer if Trump's critics don't vote for him the general election? Have they gone completely daft?

LOL. First he pisses off one half of his audience, and then, if Trump gets the nomination, he's going to piss off the other half!

Whatever his market share does, it will take years for him to recover the lost credibility and influence.

Trump is going to get the number required before the ballot.

What is amazing is how Cruz followers think he is going to win!

Businessmen offer bribes because bribes have been accepted in the past. If bribes weren’t accepted, then they wouldn’t be offered.

Think of a child asking to stay up past their bedtime. They ask three times and are told no every time. They ask a 4th time and the parent says ok. What did the child learn? They learned that it takes asking 4 times to get what you want.

Businessmen have learned that it takes bribes to get what they want.

There are plenty of good information sources. Levin has become too biased to be reliable.
Check Drudge, for example.
Also check Founderscode.com, noisyroom.net, and usatransnationalreport.org
DCclothesline, Google News,
Der Spiegel, Jerusalem Post, Bare Naked Islam, Algemeiner, Freedom Outpost, Joe Miller
Daily Mail,

This election cycle he broke out so many slip and fall lawyer of an ass clown arguments, rhetorical questions, statements, comments, outbusts to make a 3 card monte con accomplice grimmance when Levin is called a shill.
The anger with which his phoniness is laid down is intense
I stop listening to him on the drive home probably about 4 weeks ago - now I'm horribly uniformed

I also turned him off, but I don't feel uninformed. I found other local talk radio to listen to for that time slot.

After the thrashing Trump took in Wisconsin we’ll get a feel for what the poll measures.

If WI was a thrashing what is Cruz going 0 for 6 on Super Tuesday? 13% in OH & 17% FL in battleground states? Now that’s a humiliating thrashing. LOL.

It’s very likely Cruz doesn’t win another primary this month at the ballot box. Just some friendly advice but you might not want to be setting high expectations for your candidate because it’s going to be a rough month.
