And Trump's surely helping the cause, with unhinged cheap-shot attacks on Heidi Cruz- when this woman is 10,000x times more impressive than unintelligible prop Melania Trump will ever be...
Alas, the pattern is well-established: Trump comes up with some dubious excuse to orchestrate a character assassination (that's already been elaborately planned), goes into a two day twitter frenzy disingenuously playing the victim in a crudely staged scene that's a mirror-image of the one the master projectionist is actually about to spring upon his latest mark.
Then when Trump shifts into attack-mode, Drudge, Breitbart, paid bloggers and twitter trolls spread the false narrative/finish them off if they're still moving.
After this latest gutter-offensive, how any woman could vote for The Donald is beyond me... seems to have a bizarre love/hate relationship with females, to say the least.
It's been truly unsettling to see Trump just nod his head in somebody's direction -like Carlo Gambino- and loyal thugs promptly go after them,
be it online or at his monster-truck-style rallies.
And the Orwellian propaganda generated against Ted Cruz blows my mind-- so sad to watch millions of Americans join-in the utterly dishonest trashing of this good man and all he stands for in service to some would-be
post-constitutionalist dictator.
Who knows how many paid trolls he's got out there spreading his noxious slander -there's obviously an organized online offensive- but the last couple months social media and news/blog comments sections have been a cesspool to behold, like dirty campaigning gone nuclear- and we've all got Trump to thank for it.
I pray there's really not that many actual people out there who believe whatever tripe Dear Leader spoons them, and I will say over half the Trumpsters who come after me on twitter appear to be fake accounts, supported by teams of other fake accounts. With all the smear tactics, it seems Trump has combined Organizing for America with KGB disinformation techniques-- and it worked, for a while.
But are we really this screwed-up from the last eight years that we don't think there's anything wrong in the way Trump 'campaigns'... and that the answer is our own nominally 'conservative' Obama who also talks out both sides of his mouth... and runs like a scorched-Earth Alinskyite with a rabid twitter army?
Perhaps not: there is reason to consider Arizona a lagging indicator, with all that early voting for Trump (and Rubio) not truly reflecting the public's growing disaffection for the current GOP frontrunner.
After Trump received an ass-whooping in Utah, a fresh poll suggests that the Tang-toned tyrant's schtick is also rapidly wearing thin in winner-take-all Wisconsin:
In a statewide Emerson College poll released today, Texas Senator Ted Cruz is not only leading Trump 36% to 35% in the upcoming primary, but Cruz is only trailing Hillary Clinton by one point in a hypothetical general election matchup, 46% to 45%.
In contrast, Trump is trailing both Clinton and her Democratic rival, Bernie Sanders, by the same 9-point margin of 47% to 38% in a potential general election match-up.
In addition, a new Fox News poll has Cruz virtually tied with Trump nationally,
within the margin-for-error... how bout that:

Sorry
No more nose holding
No more choosing the lesser of 2 evils
If the popular vote does not carry the party’s choice then I refuse to participate in a simulation
And there is no legitimate way cruz carries the popular vote into the convention or wins a general
He is a less likeable version of romney in his own party and his appeal to democrats is nil

I'm glad we have some common ground. I believe where we are having problems though lies in how we are approaching getting there. You seem to want to pessimistically dismiss whatever he may do before it actually happens. I am optimistically looking forward to the wrecking ball actually beginning the renewal. Got to start somewhere and I prefer someone not already in, of and tainted by the system.
Judging from Trumps history and statements, there is absolutely zero chance he will deliver that. Nada. None.
If he doesn't, we insist on the creeps already there removing him. You think they won't listen to people that may want to move on impeachment? I suspect they will already be trying to invent justification to do just that.

So interesting! There does seem to be a disconnect between comparing Hillary’s and Trump’s unfavorables. For example, she draws smallish crowds with moderate enthusiasm. Trump draws huge crowds with boundless energy. What observer could fail to see the disimilarity?
Otoh, Trump has had tens of millions of dollars worth of attack ads thrown at him, not to mention Megyn Kelly et al. That’s bound to take a toll...one would think.
I wrote for a while, and then my schedule got too hectic to accommodate it. I desperately want to resume, so we shall see. (Congratulations to your friend—how exciting!)

Trying to keep the attack on wives going hardly qualifies you as a "Reaganite Republican."
Arguing policy issues, is always fair; attacking other people's wives is hypocrisy, theologically; contemptible ethically. In the era of the Founding Fathers, it might have earned you a death in the morning. (Or even a generation later, if it was the wife of a very popular General.)

Well not first. cruz is deeply anti first amendment. Cruz is worse on first amendment then Hillary. Remember Chicago? Cruz went off on Trump for speaking his mind and Cruz said that Americans should not allow for freedom of speech. Hillary didn’t even go that far.

“But the final nail in the coffin for this country as we know it is a Clinton presidency. And youre okay with that?”
You assume that just because Hitlary is a NBC that I would vote for her. I would not, I will not vote for anyone that will further errode our constitution.
That being said, you do not save your country by trampling all over the founding document. Cruz is not a natural born citizen of the United States and is not qualified for the presidency. In my opinion, if you vote for Cruz, or Rubio, or Obama you were/are responsible for the further destruction of the clause.
The destruction of the natural born clause has been ongoing for some time now. We would do well to try and keep it.

not voting for the most viable candidate running against her (i.e., Trump or Cruz) would only help to get her elected.
That being said, you do not save your country by trampling all over the founding document. Cruz is not a natural born citizen of the United States and is not qualified for the presidency.
The left want nothing more than to trample all over that founding document. And there have been plenty of cases showing that Cruz is qualified. Look them up
theyre right here on FR. Rubio, on the other hand, is an anchor baby. Never shouldve been allowed to even run.

Cruz is not a natural born citizen. Heck he doesn’t even pass the smell test.
If Putin came over here, knocked up Rosie ODonnell, you believe that child to be a natural born citizen? Able to become the President of the United States?
If that is the case, how is the natural born clause a protection to the highest office in the land?
The founders would disagree with you.
