I just heard a Trump-hater, who said he wants Trump to win the Texas Primary so Cruz is forced out.
I didn't hear the details but I guess they want Trump to win 34-33-33 to Cruz-Rubio.
Then Cruz drops out because he technically didn't win the Texas primary.
How we feel about different candidates is irrelevant to the delegate count and the decisions that should be made based on them.
The reality is that Trump is leading on Super Tuesday. He will walk away far ahead of the others. That makes the math even harder.
But for Cruz to drop out and endorse Rubio should not be done unless Rubio signs a binding contract and publicly announces that Cruz is his running mate.
The article above suggests that Cruz should drop out and let Rubio win. I have not created that thought just to have something to talk about on this thread. That is the POINT of the article.
OK, but the headline indicates it was a caller--not Bill. The caller indicates what he would like in terms of results, and now he's labeled as a hater.

I'm wondering how Rubio is feeling about Cruz saying he'd support Rubio. Can't see how it helps Rubio....the thought of the two Cuban/Americans ganging up on the American Original is uncomfortable at a time when global interference is the nations biggest threat. I suspect Rubio is smart enough to resist that.
Cruz can never be President now. The way he drafted off of Trump, then so dramatically shifted gears, further cements the image he has of being a liar and of running a nasty campaign.
Or a Rubio supporter.

I’m thinking the caller identified himself as a Trump hater, and was expressing his desire that Cruz get out now, helping Rubio, rather than Rubio getting out later, when it might be too late to help Cruz...

Must have missed his great explanation of what his Healthcare plan was. He never explained it or his immigration plan. How is he going to secure the border?
Sounds like Goldman Sachs told Cruz to quit so they could have a last gasp at Rubio Gang of 8 or they have to face Trump.Trump won it since he and Carson had the best lines.

I don’t know...seems like a smart campaign ploy to me...won’t work, but it was well designed...all in all, nothing changed last night, and won’t, until someone has the balls to drop out right now...

Cruzers spew the vast majority of hatred it seems.
But, aside from that, I don't think Cruz brings anything to a Rubio candidacy. I've seen too many say they will support Trump or Cruz, but no one else. They won't start supporting Rubio because of his VP choice. (The only time I think the VP selection made a difference was McCain/Palin, and it wasn't enough to change the outcome.)
A Cruz/Rubio ticket would do better, but probably not good enough. I fear that only Trump can stop Trump now. Given Trump's behavior, there is a good chance of that, but not necessarily in time to save the Republican Party this year.
