Trump-hater on Bill Bennett Radio: Trump needs to win Texas to lose

Posted on 02/26/2016 5:05:13 AM PST by ObamahatesPACoal

I just heard a Trump-hater, who said he wants Trump to win the Texas Primary so Cruz is forced out.

I didn't hear the details but I guess they want Trump to win 34-33-33 to Cruz-Rubio.

Then Cruz drops out because he technically didn't win the Texas primary.

Why are people who are for another candidate automatically labeled as Trump “haters?”

Alinsky tactics!

Same reason why people that aren’t backing Cruz are called fake conservative and Christians.

If Trump wins Texas, he’ll probably win every other state on super Tuesday and the whole thing will be over.

Texas is the closest contest according to the polls.

Because everyone now knows who the nominee is and it’s all sour grapes from here on in - unless u secretly want Shrillary.

Cruz cannot get out and retain any hope of being a VP pick by anyone. Texas will vote republican no matter what. His only leverage is throwing his delegates to someone at the convention in exchange for the VP slot.

I'm wondering if one of the misconceptions is about where supporters of failed candidates are going. I can't imagine many Cruz supporters going to Rubio. Add to that Cruz's interview endorsement of Rubio exposes Cruz. Won't the Cruz supporters who finally see that Cruz was playing them likely go to Trump, because he's the real deal on the issues for which they thought Cruz was better than Trump?

And what about Cruz inadvertently dismissing Carson and (Kasich) as being worthy? That doesn't sit well, combined with the Cruz campaign staffer trolling for Carson votes in Iowa.

I don't see how Cruz could EVER win in November.

Have you been reading any FR posts in the last 5-7 months?

I'm a Cruzer that is OK with Trump, but there are too many here that want to castrate the opposition.

Here’s the thing, he doesn’t have to win, a close second and 40% of the delegates is enough.

And how well is that strategy working out for him.

Huh? He's a Trump-hater but wants Trump to win so Cruz drops out? Did you mean he's a Cruz-hater? Sounds like some kind of liberal logic to me....

Yes, I have. That's what's ticking me off. Insulting a voter, rather than convincing the voter, is not the way to get them to see your point of view.

"Cruz cannot get out and retain any hope of being a VP pick by anyone."

Cruz would be a fool to accept a VP offer. He's in at least as good shape as Reagan was in 1976.

There's also the fact that Trump is a slanderous jackass.

actually, it will probably go in the other direction; once Marco loses Florida, he will have to exit, and then what will his supporters do then...I doubt they’ll gravitate to Cruz, bad blood and all...

BTW, I know people here don’t want to hear this, but Rubio absolutely flayed Trump last night and left him out to dry...won’t matter, because he can’t win any states, thus no convention support, but for the Donald’s camp, maybe some practice in a withering debate setting might be in order...I’m sure the Hilary flacks were taking notes...

I do mean Trump only needs a close second.

Being a supporter of another candidate doesn’t make anyone a Trump hater....
Consistently denigrating and mocking another candidate instead of supporting your own on his/her merits would make you a “hater” by most standards....
Bill Bennett is venomous in his attacks.... so much so he embarrasses himself...

I find it telling that Christians are using this tactic against other Christians who support Trump.

You go over to Christian forums and it’s literally war over there with Mods pleading for respect and deleting multiple posts.
