Oh, and the power's out, so they can't preserve what little is sitting around.
Iâm sure the Bernie lovers will come up with a reason this is different and not the same, but every policy the Chavistas have put in place in Venezuela since the revolution has more or less tracked to what Bernie Sanders would do here - with one exception. At least Hugo Chavez and his hapless successor Nicolas Maduro believed in exploiting the countryâs oil resources. Itâs just that they used them to grease their own palms rather than meet the needs of their people, which is how we got to the point that one of the most oil-rich nations on Earth has no power. And no food. And no medicine. And no toilet paper, not that thereâs anything available for you to eat and thus necessitate . . . OK, Iâll stop there:
According to figures published by newspaper El Tiempo, there is a shortage of 90% on staple goods such as flour, coffee, sugar, and meat, and 80% shortage in medicines.
Think so too. Venezuela is a mess and with Bernie Sanders in the WH it’ll come here as well.
government seizes control of the economy & property and becomes a disinterested monopoly supplier + universal price and wage controls + central planning and bureaucratic management = assault on causality
assault on causality = economic chaos in distribution and production + anarchy of production
chaos and anarchy = shortages
“10,000 others out here? Not hardly. Rural and remote.”
Okay, 25,000 others. Rural and remote? Easy pickings.
This is a surprise? Better tell Bernie and the rest of the fools.
To #14. Timothy - the other white meat!
You know not of which you speak about my situation.
“You know not of which you speak about my situation.”
Oh, I do. Been there, done that.
But you enjoy yourself trying to guard a 10 acre perimeter, or whatever size it is. Also enjoy picking off potato bugs all day and every day from your half-acre garden.
“Somehow I believe she has found some toilet paper.”
With $4.2B she could use actual money.
Gee, I guess soil and weather are no good in Venezuela any more.
Maybe people walked on the ground too much. Pollution like that can never be repaired. Too many people maybe. Too many feet.
/sarc
Venezuela has greater oil reserves than Saudi Arabia.
See tagline! Hatred for Dictators X 10! Following money at your FINEST!
What that country needs is Socialist slogans, hundreds of them. Then they will be as successful as North Korea. Be resolute Comrades! Redouble your efforts! Forward! More Socialism, that’s the ticket!
(do I really need to add a sarcasm tag?)
