It takes a special kind of stupid to say Donald Trump can’t beat Hillary Clinton in a general election. It takes an exceptional amount of wishful thinking to believe it.
The latest Wile E. Coyote Trump Frustration Award contest entry is an illogical stream of silliness from some “expert†writing for the Trump hating Weekly Standard. It asserts that the fast and loose, Real Clear Politics average shows both Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio beating Clinton but Trump can’t. Really?
Real Clear Politics is a tool of the RNC so it will stoop to using polls from “Forrest Gump State University†as long as the results are what they want. For instance, the Gravis One America and Reuters polls have both consistently shown Trump crushing Cruz Rubio and the rest of the field. But those polls are not included in their “vaunted†poll average. They don’t fit the narrative.
The Weekly Standard claims Cruz and Rubio can beat Clinton. It offers no explanation as to how two guys who can’t come close to beating Trump in Republican primary polls can beat Clinton. Do they use cross over Democrat votes? If so they are asserting that the losers in the smaller Party’s primaries can beat a candidate from the bigger Party.
Then there is the matter of the Drudge Report Super Poll. It recorded approximately 1.1 million votes. That poll – larger by mega numbers over any other- showed Trump with 36%, Comrade Bernie Sanders at 30% Cruz at 19% and Rubio at 4.5%.
There has been talk of gross over-voting by those who understand how to beat a “one-vote-per IP number†system. Fine let’s say 50% of the votes were faked. Do the political geniuses at Weekly Standard want us to believe...

I think a lot of contrasting candidates who can get exposure and work their ass off can easily beat Hillary and some may even carry New York on her.
Hell’s bells....Jimmy Carter could run again and beat Hillary. Benedict Arnold could rise from the dead and beat her—after all, he only betrayed America and Americans to one country whereas Hillary betrayed us to China, Saudi Arabia and Islam in general.
Trump will beat Hillary like a drum. He will wipe the floor with her like her email server.
Trump can’t beat Hildabeast.

Sad but true. He can’t. Once he hits the General he will be eviscerated. It’s one thing to tap into anger, it’s quite another to make it clear you should be nowhere near the nuclear codes.
The Weakly Standard is a neocon publication. A disproportionate amount of the vitriol against Trump comes from neocons who hate him for not needing their money. They also hate him for his attacks on the media where much of their power lies. They are probably very worried that if Trump doesn’t need their money or their media power, he just might not listen to them when they start howling for the US to send more of its men to die in their wars.
They should just all band together and form “Neocons Against Trump” and stop trying to hide who they are.
The fact that Trump can beat Mrs. Clinton and beat her badly is so obvious. Clinton is dull lifeless political hack establishment type with a ton of political baggage. Trump is energetic, has no political baggage (a blank slate really) and is a genius at winning big deals. No contest.
How come he hasn’t been eviscerated now?
Cuz they don’t bother to read polls. I’ve seen three so far-—Fox the latest-—that has Trump winning.
Gotta respectfully disagree. Normal politicians can be weakened by smears, and be made to look silly. Recall Dukakis riding around in that tank.
But like him or not, Trump is no ordinary politician. He is riding a wide wave of non-PC anger.
