Please help me get this off my computer
If you are using Windows you can go to the system restore program and restore your system to last point in time offered just before they accidental download.
What browser are you using? That would be helpful to know.
Google it
Try going to your control panel > all programs (or programs and features) > select ask toolbar > click uninstall.
Googled it. Here are instructions:

It infected me at one point. I think I had to go in and edit the registry to get rid of it. An alternative would be to switch to a different browser.

Depending on your version of Windows, you can generally find it with the START button. Go to all programs, then default programs. When you find the offending program, you can usually get rid of it with a right-click, uninstall utility.
google uninstall ask.com
(you might need to do this from another machine, or your smartphone, if ask.com blocks that search. Lavasoft has what looks like a good page

System restore....Best step my son ever taught this old grandma.
I hate it when BS like that happens. I have learned that whenever I install something to pay attention and not just hit “next” or I’ll get stuck with some sort of malware/bloatware like that.
Firefox / Windows 10
You’ve picked up a ‘Potentially Unpopular/Unwanted Program’, aka PUP. Download the free Malware Bytes Anti-Malware program. Bing shows the site as www.malwarebytes.org
I learned some years ago not to download anything that even offers a “toolbar.”
In the search box type “create a restore”. Choose that in the menu. When the window opens, highlight “OS (C) System”. Look now for the box that says “System Restore”. Check “Choose a different restore point”. Now look at the dates and choose the most recent one before you downloaded the program. Wait while your pc restores and see if you have deleted the bad program.
I am learning that lesson the hard way.
If that is all you got then it is not that hard to remove. Just go to control panel/programs then select ask toolbar and click uninstall. Had this a year ago, seems I got it downloading an Adobe update.
