Elections Rush Limbaugh: âCompared To Reagan, Trump Is Not A Conservativeâ [VIDEO] Photo of Steve Guest Steve Guest Media Reporter 3:59 PM 11/24/2015 981
Radio host Rush Limbaugh said Tuesday that Donald Trump is ânot a conservativeâ when compared with former President Ronald Reagan.
Limbaugh explained, that âcompared to Reagan, Trump is not a conservative, and the bulk of Trumpâs support is not the Republican base.â
âAs we mentioned yesterday, if you look at the demographics, at least as expressed polling data, the bulk of Trump support is what we all have been led to believe the Republican Party wants: blue-collar people, moderates and independents,â suggested Limbaugh. âI mean thereâs the fact that they donât control Trump, and the real thing is they donât have any money invested, and as such they have no say-so over what he does at all.â

That’s okay. If Trump can win, he will put a halt to Hillary, etal and we can get Cruz in next time.
Cruz or Trump...We win!
AMEN!
If somebody can clear the brush, I don’t care about what make of bulldozer they use.
Doze on, Trump..
"Our military has to be strengthened.
Our vets have to be taken care of.
We have to end Obamacare, and we have to make our country great again,
and I will do that."Donald Trump
Thank you.
Thank you, Jim! I agree with your every word!
You have put into words all my concerns on Trump, mainly that I worry he might resort to EO’s to have success, but that in the long run, it damages the constitutional fabric. I have no problem with the use of EO’s to “undo” anything that the current or past occupants have wrongly done, but I think that new-slate governing should emphasize constitutional strictures.
Right on!
And Trump is also exposing the evil of political correctness and destroying the myth that Conservatives need to hide or to be quiet about their moral and religious beliefs.
Trump may not be as conservative as Reagan, but he appears to have lots of enthused people willing to vote for him, and talk to their friends about him.
Trump is also right on immigration, which is THE issue of the upcoming decade. Bigger than any other issue — because if we continue to have Third World immigrants coming in, then conservatives will never win another presidential election ever again.
FRiends dont let friends vote for GOPe amnesty pimps and other assorted leftist enablers.
Beautifully articulated, Jim.
Another brilliant articulation.
Thank you Jim.
I know you like Curz a lot too, but it’s nice to see you remind folks that Trump is hawking Reagan’s platform.
It gets distressing to see Trump trashed like some folks do here.
I don't think Trump should hold back on EO's. I think he should go all out on EO's which roll back every gain the Left has made in the last 40 years.
THEN, he should sponsor a Constitutional amendment to permanently gut the power of EO's to do things that should have been done by legislation, and the power of the Executive bureaucracy to legislate via rule-making, and judge their own rules in "administrative courts". And tell the Dems if they don't support the Amendment, he's going to keep going on the EO's until the amendment passes.
On that point I agree. But we’re comparing campaign 08 Romney to campaign 12 Romney where Newt and Santorum drove him further right than McCain ever did in 08. Yet Rush praised him as being the three legs of the conservative stool in 08. His more conservative 12 campaign (because of Newt and Santorum driving him there) according to Rush didn’t meet the three legs. Rush only wanted to stop McCain in 08 from getting the nomination. He wanted to stop Mitt in 12. His meeting conservative principles is predicated on who he wants to advance and who he wants to stop.
>>> tell the Dems if they don’t support the Amendment, he’s going to keep going on the EO’s until the amendment passes.
Now that’s a solution I like, and best of all, it turns Alinsky’s rules against the left.
“Great minds...” and so on.
Thanks for FR and all you do.
Newt and Santorum might have driven his campaign to the right in short bursts, but overall, he was far less conservative in 12 than in 08. Remember, he was the estab’s boy in 12, but NOT in 08.
He went from right of McCain in 08 to left of McCain by 12.
"I have hope -- that American patriots who want limited government will wake up in time to throw their support behind the ONE REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE whose record indicates a steady political compass: Ted Cruz.
Those who vote for Trump only know how they hope he will govern; Trump lacks entirely any political record and in fact has a long history of leaning left and at best, moderate.
Those who vote for Cruz KNOW how he will govern because he has a political track record that shows his consistent political compass, very much like my own and the one that guided the Founding Fathers.
I have found HOPE."
I don’t trust him like I do Ted Cruz. :)
