In the wake of protests at the University of Missouri, students of color at Guilford College are rallying against perceived racism on their campus. Guilford College is in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Like their compatriots in Missouri, the protesting students have released a list of demands. If they are "not met within a week," protesters promise they will rally on campus again.
Among other things the students want, they are pushing the college to have professors, administrators, and staff to admit they are racist, that no black people should be in any marketing campaigns for the time being, and an investigation into Yik Yak, a smart phone app similar to a localized online bulletin board.
"We want black bodies out of marketing campaigns until Guilford addresses its diversity issues," reads the first demand. They continue later, "We demand a plan for the end of exploitation of black male athletes. The college must not be able to profit off of black bodies while putting minimal effort into the education and retention of those same students," it continues.
The group then writes, "We demand that school administrators, professors, staff, and student leaders acknowledge their racism, be it overt covert or passive." They then demand "that faculty and staff [be] protected and able to voice solidarity with students and/or frustration with administration."
They also demand Yik Yak be investigated: "We demand an investigation to the extent of the school’s ability into [sic] hateful Yik Yak posts and comments. Should these posts and comments turn overtly violent, the students demand the School takes it to the proper authorities and promise the safety of black students on campus. These should be treated no differently from other anonymous hate crimes."
Ah, a racist making racist demands. How cute.
The only sane response to this is, “go f**k yourself.”
Or does it only apply to white profs.

Someone had better stand up and be the adult in the room or this will really get out of hand. If it were me, I would tell these losers they’re entitled to protest and whine as long as they don’t interfere with other students. They do that, they’re out.
Then I would inform them they’re in no position to demand anything. If they don’t like the school, go somewhere else.
Only if the black students admit they’re all bigots.
Pull their EBT cards. That will shut them up!

But surely they don’t mean for any black professors to so confess...
They will get their britches spanked when they leave the comfort of the campus and try to get a job.
The way companies track social media as part of the hiring process, these “babies” won’t be able to find a job.
No one will want to hire them because they will be labeled as trouble makers. Especially the white guilt white students that won’t be protected by affirmative action.
The proper reply would be:
OH! Hell-to-the-YES I’m a racist and a bigot. Followed by...
The 1st Amendment protects my abject bigotry in the public square.
What diversity issues? These black jackasses are enrolled here.
If they don’t like it, they can go across town to A&T.

Guilford College plays Division III athletics. How is Guilford "exploiting" black athletes when the school most likely has to financially support the athletics department. These idiots think they are attending a ACC or SEC school.
“the end of exploitation of black male athletes” I wonder what the “exploited” black athletes are told that the administration is meeting the demands and all black athletes are being suspended from all the college’s teams and that they are losing any athletic scholarships they may have received. They will now have to find a new major area of study and pay for it in full or with an academic only scholarship.
And aren’t the black academic students being exploited as well? The students are idiotic children who have found a Pied Piper and are following it like lemmings toward a cliff.
And I demand that the proof reader take a remedial course to understand the concept of a hyphen!
