Donald Trump, When is Enough Enough? (Vanity)

A few days ago when asked about the couragous stand of Kim Davis, Trump essentially came out in support of gay marriage. "Its the law of the land," he said. “I hate to see her being put in jail." Well, isn't that swell Trumpy, but he added “I understand what they’re doing. It would be certainly nice if she didn’t do it." Lets get this straight, while bold leaders like Ted Cruz, Rand Paul and Mike Huckabee are coming out in support of Kim Davis and her religious stand of conscious, Trump is busy kowtowing to the gay mafia, turning an erroneous Supreme Court interpretation into the "law of the land". Of course this was brought to light immediately on FR. However, while there was some grumblings, most of those onboard the Trump train either glossed over the facts, became defensive and the usual (lack of) intelligent discussion took place.

When questioned about Obamacare at the first GOP debate August 6, Trump rambled and perpexingly came out in support of the single payer program they have in Canada and Scotland: "As far as single payer, it works in Canada. It works incredibly well in Scotland." Yes Donald, single payer is working so well in Canada that they basically bustling over the border just to get the treatment they need here. Sure, Trump went on to check all the anti-Obamacare boxes in his response, yet it is the muddled up way he did so that ought to cause consternation. One has to wonder if it wasn't Obama himself who put the healthcare changes that are destroying the country forward, if it wouldn't be Trump himself who would do it. You see Donald, when offering a conservative critique of Obamacare, you don't start by praising the healthcare systems of Canada and Scotland. If he sought to make a conservative statement on the issue, he sounded more 'severely conservative' than anything else.

Now the big issue that propelled Trump (so far) is illegal immigration. To be sure, illegal immigration has been a giant problem for decades and kudos ought to be given to the man for bringing the discussion to the forefront of this presidential election. That said, his recent history on this topic is just as muddled as the other issues I have mentioned. Now, when bringing up Trump's liberal past, many Trumpians are quick to say 'that was years ago! The man has changed.' OK, sure I'll bite. However only three years ago, Trump hammered Romney for being to harsh on illegal immigrants, referring to Romney's stance on self-deportation for the illegals:

“He had a crazy policy of self deportation which was maniacal,” Trump told the conservative website NewsMax. “It sounded as bad as it was, and he lost all of the Latino vote. He lost the Asian vote. He lost everybody who is inspired to come into this country.” Trump went on to say, "The Democrats didn’t have a policy for dealing with illegal immigrants, but what they did have going for them is they weren’t mean-spirited about it,” Trump added. “They didn’t know what the policy was, but what they were is they were kind.” Does this sound like the rhetoric of a conservative on illegal immigration? Mind you, no, this was not 10 years ago, this was as recent as the last election, when he had already had his Damascus moment and turned toward conservatism, supposedly.

Recently Trump has come on the populist side of things in regard to taxes, even Paul Krugman has come out in support of Trumps tax ideas... yes that Paul Krugman. In a Times op-ed, Krugman wrote that Trump is correct to embrace a tax hike on the rich and speak out in favor of universal healthcare. He added that conservatives — who are now slamming Trump’s proposals — were wrong to warn about the ill economic impacts of those policies ahead of the 2012 election. Keep in mind that Trump did once also propose the largest tax hike in U.S. history. Now Trump's tax hike idea isn't based on the wealthy carte blanche, but the small group of hedge fund managers who use a loophole to pay a lower tax rate on investment gains instead of income. However, his rhetoric is still jarring, "You've seen my statements. I do very well. I don't mind paying a little more in taxes. The middle class is getting clobbered in this country," he said. The statement boils down basically, tax the rich, they can afford it. Very liberal sounding. A better idea would be to lower the income tax tax to mirror the rate of investment gains. Or here's a novel idea, a flat tax!

All these recent examples of Trump's murky brand of conservtism ought to put anyone who is truly on the right on edge. Delving further back into Trump's past raises even more questions: support for automatic gun ban, support for the bank bailouts, support for the auto industry bailouts, support for abortion (hell, even this year he came out supporting Planned Parenthood saying that abortion constitutes hardly a fraction of what they do), support for Hillary (calling her very capable in 2007, and donating hundreds of thousands to her controversy ridden charity), Barack Obama ("What he has done is amazing," "He's a champion") and the Democratic Party.

So the question for conservatives is when is enough enough? Will we sell out and cave in on our values just because we want to see a wall built? If that's the case, the true price of the wall cant be quantified in dollars and cents, but in the corruption of our conservative principles.

Not only that he is a coward. He posts a vanity, then does not stick around to defend it. A coward troll.

He posted upthread that he couldn't "respond to every moan" on the thread.

Just like a troll to make a mess, then leave others to clean it up.

So why are you mad at Trump? Most of the GOP candidates are of like mind except for Cruz and Huck.

Why are you not railing agains’t the SCOTUS and the 50 governors of 50 states and their legislatures?

Trump is destroying elitists GOP, some people don't like that. Dude is a closet Rove employee.

Or is Trump doing their dirty work for them? Trump has in fact been all over the place politically even saying Bloomberg's replacement Blasoio will make a good mayor. Yeah like John McCain said about Obama. Are you not just the least bit curious as too why the media and parent networks have given Trump so much coverage long before his announcement and getting his name out there well know like his reality show?

It's early in the election. This is still summer of 2015. Every election cycle this happens in FR. It started in 2000 when the dynamics of FR changed drastically and Freepers of 1998 and older understand what I am saying. Suddenly a bunch of posters show up and Bush is the anointed. No questioning his policies loyalty demanded to him. It got far worse after 9/11 and the You're with him or the terrorist crap.

Bush and Liberal GOP Congressional policies are what made many of the abuses of powers Obama has done possible. He made sure Obama had a Liberal USSC Chief Justice, The Department of Homeland Security, The Patriot Act, and the list goes on including government kept databases on law abiding citizens legal activities which have been hacked how many times now?

Some Freepers ask hard questions of the candidates which deserve real and solid answers. That is how elections and the leading up to them is supposed to work. Scrutiny is everything. This isn't a beauty pageant nor a popularity contest for Charismatic/Ego driven personalities no matter their party or name.

This is a time to seriously look at qualified persons lond standing or long term personal records of whom they have supported in the past, their platforms, their ideas, and their understanding of the Constitution of The United States as being the specified limitations and description of powers of the three branches and federal government. All the rest of the powers not specified as federal go to the states and local governments and Donald Trump doesn't seem to get that part since he thinks Gay Marriage is the law of the land. No it was Judicial Tyranny and there is a big difference as one is in fact not lawful.

I don't trust Trump. While I do give him due credit for stirring the pot that needed stirring and getting important issues actually debated for once, I still do not trust him and nothing in his past shows me why I should.

Am I a Rove plant also? Find one post where I support Karl Rove in my history in FR. I can't stand Karl Rove and despise what Rove and GW Bush did to the Conservative movement by stabbing conservatives in the back every election for long time Family Friend RINO's. The same ones who enable Boehner, Pelosi, Obama, McConnell, and Reid.

I've survived every purge in every election cycle since my sign on date. I have one ban on my record here and it wasn't election related. I'm as such not a Republican in the sense I will not for party sake vote a straight ticket. Unfortunately due to the GOP's hierarchy controlling the party on a national level I usually vote Constitutional Independent. I'll even confess to voting for a DEM over Bob Corker. Because it was the correct choice to do so based on what the DEM running stood for which the DEMs sued to try and get him off their ticket he had got on by default. LOL. Tennessee Freepers know that one well and many did as I did.

It's early. Take a deep breath. Ask real important questions, study the ones running and scrutinize them, and demand full and correct answers. Read what they say. Remember this as well. A few years ago Trumps name was mainly seen in Tabloids and only on Tabloid TV Shows. Nobody really cared who he was. The media made him a celebrity. Do you not believe if the media wanted him gone and considered him a threat to the Liberal Agenda that they would simply do as they do all others and stop covering him and his poll ratings tank? Do they really consider him a threat or are we being played for a candidate to be anointed later in the process?

Yeah, so much for that religious freedom, right?

"The trolls are easily spotted now. Aside from the obnoxious lock step anti-Trump ad campaign their running, they’ve started heaping the projection “Cult”, “Cult Like”, “Cultish” labels on Trump supporters."

When one says he is "suspicious of" and "doesn't trust" people who don't support Trump, the label is appropriate.

Well, I do not remember if I got one today so maybe they finally understand. I, not only get them from the GOP but from both Pauls, too. There have been others but I just delete them. I would be broke if I sent everyone a few dollars. I have better use for my money.

>>>Cruz and Huckabee are the only two candidates that have shown strong support for her<<<

Exactly what does that mean? Not dissing your comment, I would just like to know what that really means.

Are they going to break her out of Jail?

Are they going to Reverse the SCOTUS Ruling and reinstate the Tenth Amendment so States can make the Decision on Gay Marriage, Incestuous Marriage and Polygamous Marriage? How can they do that?

States Rights are the cornerstone of our Constitutional Republic, right?

If they succeeded and the 10th Amendment was restored to its original purpose, what if the State of Kentucky decided to allow Gay Marriage and/or Incestuous Marriage and/or Polygamous Marriage? How about Legalizing Drugs?

What would a Politician who agrees with what the Constitution says about States Rights do in that scenario? Wouldn’t they have to support the State’s decision and not the Clerk who refused to enforce the Law?

Just because a Politician “supports” someone, it doesn’t mean they can do a thing about it unless they are appointed King of the World.

I know, it’s the thought that counts.
It doesn’t count for much, but there you go.

On my top six policy issues Trump scores no worse than a B for me. I believe it is a complete miss characterization of his tax policy to say he wants to raise taxes on the rich. He wants to reduce the top rate to 15% and fix only how carried interest is taxed (which is debatable but I think he’s right on this one). There is no one issue where he gets an F by me. He’s a gun owner and I don’t believe he’ll do anything bad on 2A issues. He’s got a lot of other issues to fix. He’s a leader, winner, and a patriot. I was for Cruz before Trump entered. Would love to see Trump/Cruz.

People who do not understand that One Man has been able to sense the seething Populist Revolt among Conservatives and real moderates and Trump like a real Capitalist - capitalized on it.

This is a Populist Revolt - a Populist Uprising and so far no candidate but Trump understands the necessity of running the table - clearing the 8 Ball GOPe out of the way and slamming the Democrat opposition into their little pockets.

Had Trump not jumping in an taken the reins this would have been ANOTHER boring set of debates giving softballs to Jeb Bush and reading slanted polls engineering by Karl Rove.

I love Ted Cruz, and respect the others (mostly)... but we do not need 17 candidates running... All that does is dilute the Conservative Vote and give the ball to Jeb Bush.

Trump has stolen the microphone and won’t give it back. Now the Elitists are dishing out every slam they can to denigrate Trump — but it is not working. Trumps is in the mid 30 percent now blowing out the die hard wishy-washy candidates who can’t get 10 people to a news conference.

A Trump led Populist Explosion is sweeping the stick in the mud GOPe aside along with their RINO hatred of all things Conservative.

We have blacks, Hispanics, Asians, women and LOTS of white men and women cheering wildly and some numb nuts troll would couldn’t see a freight train in a dark tunnel want to take shots at Trump - Good Fricken Grief.

Trump is not perfect - he is only partially Conservative — BUT TRUMP can beat our enemies and do it soundly. Trump will be responsive to the people. Trump will not be selling out our country to the Leftist Socialist and to the Islamist. Trump will be cleaning up the Federal Government cutting waste and kicking ass. Trump is smart enough to surround himself with good advisors as President. When sitting behind his chair in the Oval Office, Trump will delegate authority - he is a Corporate Giant who is used to running a team of DOERS — not ass kissers. The CULT of obama will be GONE - thank GOD and the White House will get a thorough cleaning and I am not talking about the floors.

This poster is a little lizard running with the dinosaurs and does not know he is going to get stepped on by the stampeding herd or RINO DINOS trying to get out of D.C. after Trump takes office.

Pity the poor pitiful small minded jerk who wrote this post.

THREE CHEERS FOR THE TRUMP LED POPULIST UPRISING .. CAST OUT THE GOPe AND DEM DEMONS ....

GOD BLESS VICE PRESIDENT CRUZ...

"Her state didn’t back her up and she is a state elected official."

Note that Ms Davis's bosses swore to protect and defend the Constitution. And since you have acknowledged that you understand that since the states have never amended the Constitution to expressly protect gay “marriage,” you undoubtedly also understand that Obama’s activist justices actually had no constitutionally enumerated gay “marriage” protection to throw at the states through the 14th Amendment to declare that Kentucky’s law prohibiting constitutionally unprotected gay marriage was unconstitutional.

After all, the congressional record shows that John Bingham, the main author of Section 1 of the 14th Amendment, had clarified that the 14th Amendment applies only those rights amended to the Constitution by the states to the states.

“Mr. Speaker, this House may safely follow the example of the makers of the Constitution and the builders of the Republic, by passing laws for enforcing all the privileges and immunities of the United States as guaranteed by the amended Constitution and expressly enumerated in the Constitution [emphasis added].” —John Bingham, Congressional Globe, House of Representatives, 42nd Congress, 1st Session. (See lower half of third column.)

And regarding the 10th Amendment, you also indicated that you understood that since the states have never amended the Constitution to expressly protect gay “marriage” that there was nothing stopping the people of Kentucky from authorizing a 10th Amendment-protected law to prohibit constitutionally unprotected gay “marriage,” Obama’s corrupt justices actually stealing 10th Amendment-protected state powers to legislate such a right from the bench.

So when you say that the state didn't back Ms Davis up, that means that her bosses arguably broke their oath to protect and defend the Constitution as evidenced by the above arguments, such people probably needing to be in jail instead Ms Daves for contempt of the Constitution as evidenced by their failing to stand up for Ms Davis.
