New NBC Poll Shows Ted Cruz at No. 2, But the Sunday Shows Stiffed Him

As a general matter, presidential poll numbers this far before an election, especially with a field as large as the current Republican one, do not tell us much.

But the NBC News poll out this evening following the first 2016 Republican presidential debates — notably showing Sen. Ted Cruz surging to the number two spot in the field with 13 percent support among likely Republican primary voters — may reveal something worthy of interest.

If you watch the Sunday shows as I do not just for Twitter fodder, but as a proxy for how the (bipartisanly progressive) political establishment sees the world, and seeks to craft narratives to ensure that its vision remains preeminent, you will note that Sen. Ted Cruz was among the only Republican presidential hopefuls not appearing on any of this morning’s programs.

Don’t worry, they only do it on purpose.

Last Week Fox's Britt Hume said Cruz was done all his supporters went to Trump and his money has dried up.

Fox is neutral?

Will, Hume, Krat have no clue we are going take the GOP back from them

Cruz terrifies the Washington cartel, that’s why Fox stiffed him at the debate and the drive-bys stiffed him on their Sunday morning shows.

His money has dried up? Hahahahaha! That’s so funny I can’t even think of a word to describe it. He’s the leader in hard money in the entire race, Democrat or Republican.

And .. you are correct.

I first noticed it on FOX .. They never spoke of Cruz, they never mentioned Cruz in their polls .. or if by chance he even showed up .. he was always at 2% or 4% .. hardly registering in the polls.

I knew then they were not going to support him in any way .. and now that I’ve LEFT them .. I don’t really care what they do. What freedom I feel.

They in the debate left him without questions for forty minutes.

I’ve said it before - Trump is Cruz’s “John the Baptist”. Paving the way.

Cruz could not withstand the onslaught that Trump’s media savvy, bluster, money and bravado is doing.

If you support Cruz you should be celebrating what Trump is doing and support it also as far as it can go.

Trump put 24 million people in front of the TV that heard Cruz’s Christian testimony and overall intelligence.

God is working here folks and you may not like who He is using but He has a plan.

Yeah, I heard that .. and they did the same thing to Dr. Carson; it was disgraceful.

What bothers me is that people think Senators don’t know anything about foreign affairs. THAT’S BACKWARDS - because it the Governors who are not focused on foreign affairs .. they’re focused on their states.

Cruz has been a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee since he arrived there .. and has probably been exposed to more information foreign intelligence than all the governors put together.

Be sure you remind people of that fact.

...

I considered the same last night. As you say Trump may already be benefiting Cruz, but I’ve been wondering if his ultimate goal is to split the vote for the benefit of the Clinton gang.

That is not Senator Cruz's problem in getting out front.

He's got both the GOPe and Democrat cartels as he puts it working against him to maintain their power.
I think Cruz might be the most honorable candidate to come along in 100 years, but he had done to him what Palin had done as well to some extent trying to call him extreme instead of stupid.

We lack Cruz still because too many voters are low information and can be bought by 30 pieces of government silver or lots of advertising.

I think if Trump gets it he should get Cruz to become the VP and I think he would because Trump likes Cruz and loyalty.

I don’t think a President Trump wants more than four years and I think you then get 8 years of President Cruz after.

Cruz and Trump both running is a win win for us. If lucky Cruz might just take it anyway and could put Trump in charge of building the walla and getting the people we need to make trade and other deals.

Now if neither make it, we and the country are screwed.....

You got that right tell me any Republican Candidate for President that a picture like this wouldn't be a killing blow to. Or he fact that Bill Clinton is their favorite President wouldn't eliminate them.

If Cruz were to except he isn't the man I think he is and so there will be no point in voting as we have either Clinton or Clinton lite.

I disagree, he would IMO build the wall, would make the good deals and get us some of our respect back IMO.

Cruz can handle the "onslaught" just fine. He has won every media "encounter" to date.

But I agree with you on Trump's audience power.
