Third Party Trump is better than RINO Jeb Bush

Trump's best chance for victory would be as the GOP nominee

From the very beginning of the first GOP presidential debate, Donald Trump was in the spotlight and under fire from Fox News commentators. The first question asked for a show of hands of all candidates who would not pledge to support the Republican presidential nominee. Only Donald Trump raised his hand, which led to the first of many confrontations during the debate. He was challenged by moderator Brett Baier and lambasted by Senator Rand Paul for “buying and selling politicians.” While Trump declared that he wants to “run as the Republican nominee,” he is wise to keep his options open.

The Republican establishment is terrified of Trump, who can finance a third party campaign and is independent of special interests. They will continue to mercilessly attack him, hence Trump is smart to maintain “leverage” and keep open the third party alternative.

It may also provide a needed choice for the American people. If the presidential nominees are Democrat Hillary Clinton and Republican Jeb Bush, or another RINO, Trump should enter the race to give voters a real alternative. The last thing the country needs is another Bush or Clinton in the White House.

No 3rd party, no Bush..... Cruz, Walker, Fiorina or Jindal.

The “real” alternate would quickly turn into a HIllary victory. Perot’s third party “real” alternative worked so well, the Clinton’s would just love to see it again.

Trump as 3rd party is a disaster in the making. We really don’t need another Clinton in the WH with high 30s, low 40s voting percentage.

A third Party Run would mean both Trump & The Republican would lose. If he doesn’t understand that he’s not the sharp operator he claims to be or is a stalking horse for the Democrat’s.

Perot wasn’t to blame. Bush I had completely abandoned Reagan that he was vulnerable. He almost lost to Buchanan in the primaries.

And how many of the Perot votes would have gone to Clinton?

Perot did not strike any chord with the leftists - his constituency was mostly disaffected conservatives (like myself) who, in the absence of Perot, would have voted against Clinton (as opposed to voting for Bush).

The third party vote, including mine, gave us the Clintons.

My guess is Trump is hanging 3rd party threat as sword of Damocles on RNC’s head..

Of course he understands. And if we want to change the paradigm, we MUST be willing to do this very thing. The GOPe knows that no matter how much we complain, we’ll hold our nose and vote.

It will NEVER EVER work. And it hasn’t worked.

Actually exit polls, and other polls after the fact, made it clear that Perot’s support was about 50/50

“Perot’s third party “real” alternative worked so well, the Clinton’s would just love to see it again.”

This is often repeated without context.

Bush 1 sucked at unifying his own party. He broke his explicit word and raised taxes. His failure as a candidate opened the door for Perot.

Those who voted for Perot, after his “I put one foot in. I take one foot out...”, manuever, were likely not enthused about Bush or they never would have left.

Ditto: Dole, RINOmney, McLame.

If this new nomination is another lame RINO candidate, Trump will not be the problem. The problem is that the Republican Party does not want its conservative base. It runs as if it represents them and then governs like the liberal party that it is.

For this reason, the RINO party is falling apart and Trump is welcomed.

How many RINO candidates promised to build a wall?
How many promised to keep us strong?
How many promised to lower taxes?
How many promised to make our country competitive?

There are many, like me, who used to be Republican, but left the Plantation. Conservatives get from the Republican Party about what Blacks get from the Democrat Party.

I’m gone. So are legions of others.

Funny you should say that...

Willard had that same dread about himself when he thought of his Daddy, George Romney, and the 1964 Convention..

LOL

After last night , I am beginning to think that the so-called Republican party WANTS Trump to go third party so that the Dems , probably Hillary , will win .

If the GOP winds up with another establishment hack as nominee, I’d vote for Trump in a split-second. And I’m not even a big Trump booster or supporter. I don’t particularly trust him. He might turn things around in a good way, or more likely, prove to be an atom-bomb that rips the country apart. And either of those outcomes is perfectly fine by me, and far more preferable than continuing to empower the corrupt, amnesty-supporting, homo-embracing GOP-E. Damn them to hell.

You may be right, but I never met any liberals that voted for him.

In the current scenario, I wonder how many liberal votes Trump would pull? I suspect the vast majority of votes would come from the conservative side.

Bush and the GOP lost votes. Perot merely reflected the issues of the time; which still have not been ‘fixed’, ie trade policies and the national debt.
