Hello all.
Asking for more prayers for my father.
Today he is at Hopkins to have triple-bypass surgery.
This is harrowing enough, as is the thought of "recovery" with them cutting bones for it, but last night I just got a call from my aunt (his sister) and she stated that she and my uncle (brother), who is paralyzed, have a defect in their spines and that my dad should ensure surgeons are aware of this because of possible genetic similarity.
I called my parents this morning to tell them (my aunt oddly did not mention it to them). But I want to ensure they did it, yet my mother doesn't seem to have any cell phones on.
Bottom line, we don't want him to end up like my uncle - paralyzed!
You didn’t mention a name to pray for.
Gerhardt. Gary for short.
Thanks.
My brother had quadruple in March...has made up some shark stories to explain his scars. :)
Prayers up.

I show off my scar whenever I can. I'm proud of it. It's what "saved" my life.
Thought I’d give an update now from my home after some rest:
Surgery took a good while, about 8 hours. About 1:30 the doctor talked to us. About 3 we were taken back to IC and by 4 both Mom and I left for rest at home. Dad was totally out, and likely wouldn’t really realize what’s going on this morning anyway.
Doctor said essentially Dad seemed to have 4 blockages, but could only work with 2 - the most important. Plus, they took a while because they could not find good vessels to use in his body. It was 5 hours when they said they could actually start the surgery itself, were starting the heart-lung machine, not just fishing for parts!
Mom was completely beside herself unhinged part way through after I got there because staff were running back and forth, and she was sure everything was bad - but they weren’t even going to our OR, as I found out later. A nurse who wandered in pointed out that, and I looked down the very long hallway and walked to see it was very long without even any doors! So no way they could be running for Dad. But my mother started getting very upset again after we were not contacted a very long time, assuming everything was bad because of that.
The nurse in IC said he was doing fine as to be expected. We can’t really expect much consciousness until this afternoon, which is my aim today.
Praying for your father!
Hang in there, friend! God works in His own time. He hasn’t forgotten you! (((HUGS)))

Prayer bump
I pray the operation is success, as well as the recovery.
May God guide the surgeons hands.
Prayers up and continuing....
Lord, guide the hand of the surgeons and grant Thy servant a complete recovery.
In the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, amen.
Thank you for keeping us updated. Prayers continue for your Dad, Mom, and you.
Prayers sent, God Bless.
