HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY, and GOD BLESS AMERICA
IT'S NOT JUST THE 4th OF JULY, IT IS OUR DAY OF INDEPENDENCE
As Americans, today we set aside the trivialities of everyday life to remember why we enjoy what few in the history of the world have ever experienced, a totally Free Country..
But for the courage of a few, who bravely, at the sacrifice of all they possessed, laid down a marker that the world had never seen, ALL OR NOTHING, FOR FREEDOM..
Without their tenacity, and vision, we would be under the boot of some tyrant, struggling to survive at their whim.. Instead we live in a land of plenty, with unbridled rights, unheard of before we set the bar so high that so many before us have been willing to die to defend, and protect..
History has shone that our Declaration of Independence, from the tyrannical government of Great Britain, was to be seen in our time, to all the people and Nations of the world, as the apex in democracy, a document that has stood the test of time..
Take a moment out of your festivities to remind those who share our blessings of Liberty.. That we are indeed humbled, to live so wonderful a life in the long shadows of those brave, courageous, and generous men from 1776, and all those that have sacrificed since, do so with our undying gratitude..
HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY, and GOD BLESS AMERICA
You too, Carlo!
Thank you my friend.. :)
I remember America it was a great country. Whatever happened to it?
The Continental Congress voted for independence on July 2, 1776. In a letter to his wife dated July 3, John Adams predicted that July 2nd would be celebrated every year as independence day.

WHERE DID I GO WRONG?
When did I become so out of touch with almost everything that appears to be going on around me? Before today, I was considered a mainstream guy, a straight shooter. I think of myself as a typical guy, right out of the American heartland, literally.. Where did I go wrong?
I am a red blooded American male, cut from the common cloth.. I believe in America, and the American Ideals, which was; God fearing, staunchly patriotic, hard-working, tax paying, law-abiding, a Norman Rockwell average Joe..However, by todays standards, I am backward, bigoted, racist, homophobic, misogynistic, judgmental, oh, and an imperialistic bully.. Sheeesh..
If I haven't changed much in my values, since I was a youngster, I still have the books that provided me with my mainstream views and values, that produced millions of others, just like me.. Then something must have changed, and if it wasn't me then who, or what changed?
I have a Bible, The U. S. Constitution, The U.S. Declaration Of Independence, and The Bill Of Rights.. If those documents have changed, I plead GUILTY! .
Sadly I’m feeling less patriotic these days.
Interesting that he was so wrong.. The people only remembered the day it was published, not the day it was adopted.. LOL
Don’t fear, we have survived worse than these despots, although I’ll get them this, not much worse.. ugh
Actually, the document is dated July 4.
A bit early. but then blog pimping knows no boundaries
Thats what I meant, Published = printed..
Sorry, I have no blog.. Nice try.. I’ve been around a long, long time, and for sure, I have no need for publicity.. Happy 4th jerk
Live Free or die.
Thank you Carlo and a Happy Independence Day to you.
Thank you mojo, to you and yours.. Happy Independence Day..
Happy 2nd to you too
Happy DEPENDENCE Day!
