...Reading conservative sites the last week, Im getting that vibe from both the chattering skulls and their readers who show up in the comments. Theres a state of shock at what has transpired over the two weeks.Their preferred party sold them out to please global finance. The court untethered itself from the English language and made itself the enforcer for the Cult of Modern Liberalism. Not only was the Right not winning, they were blown off the field.
As I pointed out the other day, the gay marriage ruling is the biggest assault on religious liberty in the history of the nation. One cannot read the majority opinion without wondering how long before the courts declare Christianity illegal.
The ObamaCare decision is the most radical in the history of the court. Judge Roberts literally declared that the English language is no longer a constraint on the court, which means they no longer have to read the relevant laws in future cases.
Most of the Right is in shock, unable to muster more than the old complaints that sound rather silly given what has just transpired.

Last week was part of the mopping up phase of the culture war. The major institutions of the West have all been converted to the Cult of Modern Liberalism. There are no cultural institutions that stand in opposition to any of this stuff.

There are only two alternatives left: Capitulation or organized resistance of the not so gentle kind.
Interesting article and I tend to agree with most of it.
But here’s the thing, I am shocked that anyone is shocked. Spending too much time in the echo chamber must be the reason. This has been coming for about a decade (and probably before but more subtly). It was hugely disappointing, but no shock to anyone paying attention.
As for the two alternatives, that is probably true. Our overwhelming problem is we don’t have the numbers to change the GOP, start a Third Party, or organize resistance. I’m not saying we don’t have ANYONE. Quite the contrary. And maybe everyone in our social circles are “rarin’ to go”. But those are still small numbers. And our group is shrinking while the other side’s is growing. I have yet to see us put any significant numbers “on the streets” for anything.
NOW can we start shooting?
“the other side is growing” because they are the only side in the fracas.
People flock to the side that is “doing something”, even if they must modify their views to accommodate the flocking.
Conservatives need to do more than speechify, they need to MOVE!
And if I may add, the part that is SO spot on is the 80s conservative movement was really no more than a bunch of “conservatives” trying to get on TV and sell books. That’s pretty much all it is now which is why “news entertainment” is such a joke as is talk radio.
Really spot on analysis.
I definitely agree 100% with Conservatives need to do more than “speechify”. Boy do I agree with that. The Conservative movement has turned into nothing but bumper-sticker moments. There is little analysis and less thought.
There is SO much positive about Conservatism and conservative governance that is always lost in the latest Sean Hannity, etc side-show.
As for the numbers though that is even a bigger problem. I read this morning that there are now more minority babies in the U.S. than white ones. And unless we do more to teach and not preach, then it truly is a lost exercise.
Agreed. I was shocked for the last time when Roberts came up with the first 0bamacare decision, which made very clear that the court's first priority was to further leftist goals at the expense of what remained of the Constitution. I was surprised (at the time), as I supposed that Roberts was still a conservative, and that the defense of the Constitution was the court's fundamental purpose in our system of government. How wrong I was.
Indeed indeed and well said.
That's a lot of hard cold hearts.
Anything can happen. I predict cannibalism.
I feel a little better when you find out only 3 states ever voted to approve same-sex marriage. The rest of them it has been forced upon them. I don’t believe the polls, let the people vote (and let them know what they are voting for and against) and this country is much more conservative.
Polls are not accurate. If you’re talking to someone, your answers change.
It won’t be over until the Liberals figure out to take down Elysium.
A third approach (and the best) is organized non-violent civil disobedience. It got the commies out of Poland, the Soviet out of Russia, the Morsi jihadists out of Egypt, the English out of India, the start of getting the English out of the American colonies, and so on.
I guess that we’re fully into Saul Alinsky’s socialist state dream.
How to create a social state by Saul Alinsky:
There are 8 levels of control that must be obtained before you are able to create a social state.
The first is the most important.
1) Healthcare: Control healthcare and you control the people
2) Poverty: Increase the Poverty level as high as possible, poor people are easier to control and will not fight back if you are providing everything for them to live.
3) Debt: Increase the debt to an unsustainable level. That way you are able to increase taxes, and this will produce more poverty.
4) Gun Control: Remove the ability to defend themselves from the Government. That way you are able to create a police state.
5) Welfare: Take control of every aspect of their lives (Food, Housing, and Income).
6) Education: Take control of what people read and listen to take control of what children learn in school.
7) Religion: Remove the belief in the God from the Government and schools.
8) Class Warfare: Divide the people into the wealthy and the poor. This will cause more discontent and it will be easier to take (Tax) the wealthy with the support of the poor.
I think that we are likely to see some of this very soon, as the persecution of Christians for their beliefs has already begun, and will shortly be ratcheted up in earnest.
Reminds me of something a certain candidate said not too long ago about how some bitter little people insist on clinging to their Bibles and their guns.
I think you are right, but I’m not sure. Having trouble here believing that what has happened these last two weeks or so garners majority opinion.
This was Ted Cruz’s contention also. He said that five unelected lawyers threatened democracy, usurping the opinions of millions, when the Constitution provides the means to decide these questions. It’s called the VOTE.
We will never know, will we? Gayness has been established by the courts in every case, not the people, and it must stop. Impeach the SOB’s.
