ABC panel shows co-host also wonders whether Diddys son was treated unfairly by UCLA coaches before the moguls campus arrest.
Whoopi Goldberg and her cohorts on The View took on Fox News personality Bill OReilly on Thursdays episode of the ABC talk show, cautioning the OReilly Factor host not to sidestep the prevalence of racism in America.
The conversation was sparked by a clip of OReilly telling a guest, Most Americans are not racist.
While the View panel by and large gasp! agreed with OReilly, Goldberg warned that denying the extent of racisms impact in the United States would be a mistake.
For the most part, if you look around at whats happening, everybody in this country is not racist, but they are here, Goldberg said. Lets not pretend that its not there, Bill.
A better point is that you cannot be racist and good; its the worst thing you can say about someone, Nicolle Wallace added. I think Bill OReillys point is that we are a good nation; you cant paint the nation with this broad [brush].
Rosie Perez opined that the increased opposition to racism in America, fueled recently by exhibitions of the Confederate flag and the tragic church shooting in Charleston, South Carolina, is a positive development to be celebrated.
People are coming out and saying, Enough is enough, so why dont we talk about that, and why dont we celebrate that? Perez asked.
Elsewhere during the episode, the View crew discussed the recent arrest of Sean Diddy Combs, after he allegedly assaulted a coach with a kettlebell at UCLA, where his son is on the football team.
Goldberg wondered whether Combs son Justin was treated unfairly because of his fathers fame.
The former UCLA coach claims that part of the reason he recruited Diddys son is because of Diddys fame, Goldberg reflected. Is this possibly why the coach was tougher on him? Was he as tough on the kids of non-famous parents?
Nonetheless, Goldberg added, there are better avenues for Combs to express his displeasure over his sons treatment.
Where does the responsibility fall for the parent to go to the head of the school and say, Hey without the kettlebell and say. This is whats happening to my kid. If only because you are a famous person, and no matter what you do, somebodys going to blame it on you.
Acknowledging that all of the facts in the case still have not come to light, Goldberg offered, Diddy, come on and tell us what happened, baby. Come on.
the extent of racisms impact
Prove it. Cite one systemic and deliberate racist law ordinance, action by white society ANYTHING. Individual acts of stupid do not count.
I don’t mean Jim Crow or some bs from 40 years ago...cite it or stfu!
America is so racist, Whoopi Goldberg has a national TV show there.
And the racism somehow enabled her to become a multimillionaire.
Is it racism-racism?
And Oprah is one of the most popular and wealthy celebrities in this racist country...how can that happen?
...crew discussed the recent arrest of Sean "Diddy" Combs, after he allegedly assaulted a coach with a kettlebell at UCLA, where his son is on the football team. Goldberg wondered whether Combs' son Justin was treated unfairly because of his father's fame. "The former UCLA coach claims that part of the reason he recruited Diddy's son is because of Diddy's fame... Is this possibly why the coach was tougher on him? Aren’t the president, first lady, attorney general, transportation & homeland security secretaries and top aide all black?
Since 1965 blacks have actually had unconstitutional laws in the form of group "rights" created for them which gave them an advantage in many areas over whites and other groups deemed "minorities."
While many blacks have taken advantage of the new age and laws, many have not. The failure or black Americans to rise up and take their place alongside other Americans is not the fault of racism...it is the fault of the millions of individual blacks who chose government as their savior and not their own efforts.
Doesn't make the slightest difference.
As far as the MSM is concerned, America is still as racist as Birmingham, Alabama under Bull Connor.
Who was a Democrat, by the way.
The Whoopi Cushion has had it tough living in America. She could have been a rich celebrity if it hadn’t been for AMERICAN “racism”.
Right Woopie...
Because the white man won’t let you succeed and I’ve never been the victim of black hatred.
Asians come here not know a word of English, work their fingers to the bone, make something of themselves and their kids go to top colleges. Explain that.
Oh it’s there all right, and it’s mostly coming from people like YOU, Whoopi...
Yeah, Whoopi knows all about responsibility.
I’ll tell you who is racist. Its people like Whoopie and her panel that are the racists. Everything they see touch feel or hear to them is racist. Its got to be Hell to be them.
If society were not viciously racist, Whoopi would be a billionaire.
As were racists George Wallace, Woodrow Wilson, Harry Truman, Lester Maddox and many others...
Oh it’s there alright; every time she opens her big fat mouth.
