Something is coming. I don’t know what. But we must be ready. Here’s the key question: Is America heading towards a terrible implosion or a great awakening?
I feel a tremendous sense of urgency about this column.
The United States is hurtling towards severe trouble, and the events of the past few months — and what may be coming over the next few months — grieves me a great deal.

Consider where we are in the summer of 2015:
•Violence is exploding in our cities, schools and churches. The horrific mass murder inside the church in Charleston would be bad enough if it wasn’t just one of innumerable mass killings that have become epidemic in America.
•Racism is tearing us apart, and it appears things are getting worse, not better.
•The Supreme Court is poised to rule any day now on the definition and future of marriage — and if the Court rules against Biblical marriage I believe this could cause the Lord’s hand to turn against our country in a severe and profound way according to the moral laws found in Romans chapter one.
•Abortions are occurring at more than one million in year and have put America on the fast track to judgment. Since 1973, Americans have murdered 57 million children through abortions. The blood of 57 million babies is crying out for justice, and they will get it in God’s sovereign timing. Could that be soon?
•If all this wasn’t bad enough, marriages and families are imploding all around us. Poverty is growing. Drug and alcohol use is epidemic. And that’s just here at home.
•Abroad, Iran is closing in on The Bomb.

You can’t redefine the word “Soon” to mean “anytime” or “sometime in the next 10,000 years.”

I think Christ is suggesting imminence (as another has also stated). How we treat his imminent return will be an extension of our faith and confidence in Him. For those who anticipate his coming soon - that exudes faith and confidence. For those who believe the original word [tachu] is meant to indicate “without delay”, why that, too, is indicative of a faith that believes. Others might prefer to think of his return as “sudden” (also indicated in the translation of the word). Well, that would be a sure sign of that individual’s expectation of the Lord’s promise - another sign of faith. Of cours, if one holds to the notion that He comes “quickly”, why that individual would be doing everything in their power to make sure they are at the ready.
Soon, without delay, suddenly, quickly. However, whenever He returns the believer would do well to ALWAYS be at the ready...in case the day of His return is at hand.
You and Bill Clinton can debate the meaning of “is” if you like, as that’s no different than pretending that “Soon” means “Suddenly.”

Once again, Jesus said He is coming “soon” (direct quote) and He also told us to watch, be ready, and pray for His return. He will come as a thief in the night. And once again, I told you that all the signs indicate (to me) that His return is very near. Sorry you don’t believe that.
You are the mistaken one, not I. The word’s definition is what the word means and I have provided you with the word’s definition. As Christ said to the Pharisees, “you do err not knowing the scriptures.” There is no further need to discuss the matter with you as you lack the spiritual discernment to understand spiritual things.
