Imagine this: you're gushing blood. Nothing seems to make it stop. Then you apply a gel to your wound, and within seconds, the bleeding stops. In minutes, you're healed.
This is the premise of VetiGel, an algae-based polymer created by Joe Landolina — a 22 year-old who invented the product when he was just 17.
Landolina is now the co-founder and CEO of Suneris, a biotech company that manufactures the gel. Last week, Suneris announced that it will begin shipping VetiGel to veterinarians later this summer. Humans won't be far behind.
When injected into a wound site, the gel can form a clot within 12 seconds and permanently heal the wound within minutes, says Landolina.
"The fastest piece of equipment we have measures every 12 seconds," Landolina tells Business Insider. "So we know that it happens in less than 12 seconds."(continued)

Being on Warfarin since a heart valve replacement this really perked up my curiosity.
I’ve thought of having a clotting agent handy just in case but haven’t.
I’m all the time nicking myself or worse.
Soon enough attorneys will be looking for folks ‘damaged’ by this invention.
Seeing Xarelto advertised on the same channel the shysters use trying to drum up business for this bad drug business would be funny if it wasn’t affecting our access to new drugs.

Hey Leslie, ever notice those drug commercials on TV, you know, the ones that 90% of which have to speak of possible side-effects....and are often followed by some local shyster commercial of "have you taken this drug and got diarrhea?...call us, we'll get you(us)a $50M settlement!"
That's not to give the pharmaceuticals or their lobbyists(on BOTH sides of the aisle)a pass, but a little "fair and balanced" reporting might have given her story a little more credibility to a broader audience.
...unfortunately, like most leftist agenda driven MSM outlets, considering the source, it obviously was never intended too be a fair discussion.

And after twelve or thirteen years of FDA testing we might see it on the market.

This better sweet. It is great that an American did this, but so sad that if it wasn’t for Obama and his minions we could be seeing things like this once a week.

To All: The “blood stopper” you can get right now to stop blood pouring from a wound, is Celox. At the bottom of this post, I'll put the link to the Amazon page selling Celox. Once you are looking at that page for the single packets of 10 in a case, scroll down and you will see various other ways they package Celox.
Have a lot of blood from a wound, too much blood for just pressure to stop quickly - rip open small package of Celox and pour the powder on the wound (turns to gel as it stops bleeding), apply pressure, and blood will stop flowing within 10 seconds to minutes according to the severity of the cut/wound.
Celox is used by paramedics and the military on the battlefield. Perhaps this new gel type will be better/faster on the battlefield, but we don't have that now, but we do have Celox we can afford right now.
Now, let me tell you what happened to me a few weeks ago- my Celox is in my “save your life” emergency medical bag. I was in Corpus Christi and, coming back, went to the town where my townhouse is. I was going to do serious work in the garden in back of my townhouse; we are within two blocks of the house, and I put my right hand down into the storage compartment on my door, felt bad pain, jerked hand up and there was blood pouring from my right ring finger.
Months before, just before getting out of car, I took a metal lid off a small can of nuts, and put the metal lid in that car door holder, meaning to take it out later. I forgot that lid was there.
We put a band aid with antibiotic already in the strip and wrapped the finger pretty tightly to stop the blood - it did not want to stop as it was a deep cut. I put hand in big heavy duty work gloves to work outside in the garden.
So, we spend the night at a hotel. In the middle of the night, the finger woke me up with throbbing. Went in bathroom, took some effort to get band aid off, and the cut started bleeding like a river. Got blood on sink and floor. Put on pressure and got another band aid on it but it didn't want to stop bleeding.
When we left that hotel, I figured with all the bloody Kleenex in bathroom, they would think someone had been attacked and bled to death.
I tell you that story to say this: I MADE A HUGE MISTAKE NOT HAVING CELOX WITH ME. I now have three packets of Celox in my suitcase and two packets in the car.
Get some Celox and put some in whatever you carry every time you leave on a trip. Also, make sure there is a couple of packets in your car.

The Bride swears by Quik-Clot, which she used and we still pack (not sure if it’s a brand-name difference from Celox).
