In America we could leave our doors and windows unlocked, our car windows down, with items on the seat all summer long, and leave the keys in the cars in the driveway, and we didn’t know what a bicycle lock was.
Since the doors were unlocked, neighbors sometimes would just walk in and yell for us, you can see that sometimes on old TV shows.
We did all that by being a social conservative, Christian nation, with our own culture, we didn’t need to cut off hands to terrify people into being decent.
