Baltimore Cop: No Proactive Policing 5.27.2015 News Sarah Fisher
Whilee Baltimore faces record levels of violence, an anonymous police officer told Sean Hannity last night that police will no longer be "proactive." This month there were 35 murders, and 32 reported shootings this past Memorial Day weekend alone.
A current Baltimore police officer who chose to hide his identity reacted on "Hannity" tonight, saying that the surge in violence is a "direct result" from the six officers who were indicted by a grand jury in the death of Freddie Gray.
"After the protests, it seems like the citizens would appreciate a lack of police presence, and that's exactly what they're getting," the officer said. "No proactive policing right now."
Hannity wanted to to know if police officers were afraid to do their jobs.
"When you go out into the street, you trust that your command staff and those you work with will support you," the officer replied. "The tip of the spear needs the most assurance that your department, your citizens, your mayor and city council have your back."
And the officer predicted that the violence would get worse over the summer.
"Summertime is usually the most violent time in the city," he stated. "This is going to be a fairly routine occurrence - double digit shootings, high homicide rates over the course of the next three months."
You’re right!
I bet that every police department within 100 miles of Baltimore is getting a flood of resumes from Baltimore police who want to leave.
Excellent, couldn’t agree more.
Thank you both.
Cops should not be required to go into neighborhoods where they are not allowed to do their jobs. Let them fight it out. They don’t want law enforcement. They are looking for any excuse to riot and shake down.
I like Hannity, but usually don’t like to watch him. Last night’s show had a couple segments just on this black on black crime. A great deal was on lack of response by the prez, activists, and Sharpton, etc. I guess the short answer is that only some black lives matter. And that’s a crappy reality.
Sheesh, unions.
Lets see if we have this correct
Baltimore population is 68 % black
police department is 68 % black
fire department is 58% black;
school district is 86% black
school teachers are 72% black;
city council is 90% black;
Mayor is a black;
chief of police is black;
54% of population is on welfare;
and they believe that we the whites are
the reason they are living in poverty are create racism?
are = and
That about sums it up!
Yeah, once such a policy was in place, there would be a temporary uptick in violence, but it would settle out if left alone.
Of course the sine qua non of the success of such a measure is the repeal of unconstitutional gun laws (IMNHO, every one of them except COTUS 2A) and the widespread exercise of the right thus freed from lawless "laws".
Thanks for the ping!
Veteran cops have learned and explain to rookies that when called to a “fight in progress” that it is much better to wait until the fight is over and arrest the winner rather than jumping into the fight and getting beat by all the participants.
