Obama Has Less Than $1,001 in Savings Account

President Obama has reported less than $1,001 in his savings account. The disclosure comes as part of the president's annual Executive Branch Personnel Public Financial Disclosure Report.
The only savings account listed by the president is a "JP Morgan Chase Private Client Asset Mgmt Savings Account," according to the disclosure reports.

I assume he keeps most of his money in brokerage accounts and other income-generating accounts/investments. why keep substantial money in a savings account?

Bank savings account .. that pays almost zero in interest? Not surprising. I keep very little in my bank savings account. He probably keeps most of his money somewhere where it can earn dividends or capital gains.

I haven't had a savings account in 30 years. But I do have two debit accounts and there is money in both of them. I also have a little bit of stocks.
So that headline is just a grabber. He's got plenty of bucks.
