I don’t know about vapor, but tobacco smoke permeates everything in a home. If the owner wants to make it neutral again after the smoker moves out, it require a lot of work and money.

Its outrageous!!
e cigarettes do not “exude” any smoke...nor any aroma.
Have the property owners had a bad experience with a “Vaper” or are they just way too PC??
“ah those “VAPERS” you can tell em by their clothes and their long/short hair...”

As far as I know Vaping gives off propylene glycol (glycerin)found in many processed foods. Its harmless, odorless, used as a sweetener and a constituent of lipids (fats). My guess is that owners are concerned about those using e-cigarettes may relapse and start smoking again.

I've been around some eCigs that are absolutely nauseating--even worse that a cigarette. Not sure why as other people claim no output. Is it that the water vapor is more than just that? Or is it odor?
As I travel all over the US, almost 50% of my time, I notice more and more signs up saying no eCigs. Never once have I seen a positive sign saying they are allowed.

Yeah, but vaping releases deadly CO2 into the atmosphere, causes more global warming and kills the children. So THERE!

Their place their rules. And conveniently enough they announce to everyone, even non-smokers, that the owner is kind of a douche.

Sorry, I kind of seen their point, unlike cigarettes it may not leave stains and the same odor, but the vapor carries a far greater amount of nicotine to be distributed around a unit.

You can easily change this rule.
Simply buy the rental property and then make your own rules.

If your landlord was that big a jerk wouldn’t you rather find out through the stupid rules he put in the craigslist ad than after you signed the lease. That’s the great part about freedom, they’re free to make stupid rules, and you’re free to not rent from an $#^&^& that makes stupid rules.

My wife has been cigarette-free for over a year now. She started vaping a year ago. I don't smoke and, when we married, she smoked cigarettes and agreed to not smoke in the house or in the car. However, when she switched over to vaping, all of that changed. She smokes in the house and in the car now and there is no problem at all.
To me, the odor of the hookah vapor, as I call it, smells like cotton candy.

I get the sense that these particular landlords..want to exhibit evidence of their complete and utter authority and have to way of doing so in a common sense manner
hey Im in the S.F Bay Area in California....its really strange here. Common sense HERE seems to have died decades ago.

It sucks to be a queer too, except somehow liberals seem to use political correctness and the color of law to its advantage.

lol. What an absurd thing to do, to make demands on something they probably know nothing about, i.e., e vapors

For sure.....Vaping made it amazingly simple for me to quit an almost 50 year smoking habit -- painlessly; over three years now.
I've sucked on 'em in some pretty auspicious places, too (although stealthily), such as a hospital pre-op area.
Seriously, though...the industry should have re-tooled long ago and dropped ANY reference to "cigs", in nomenclature and appearance. if they'd have done that pre-damage control, there wouldn't be the current ignorance on the subject.
