Is there a website that reviews gun shops?

My brother, who lives in Arizona, is finally starting to see the light about arming himself and learning how to use it. Because it's Arizona, there are gun stores every 100 feet. ;-)

Question..... What's the best way for him to find out who to patronize? Is there a website that reviews gun shops (for service, quality, knowledgeable staff, etc.)?

My current advice is for him to go to a range or gun club that lets new shooters rent different models and has qualified instructors -- and also to ask lots of questions.

Thanks friends.

A lot of small gun shops are run as social clubs rather than as businesses.

I see the bright, clean, shop, with a range, and catering to women and young shooters as the coming trend. Scottsdale was the first shop I saw built on that model, and they did it very, very well. They started with a small shop, and asked their customers what they would want in a “Dream gun store” over the years. They put together a business plan, and were able to build it. It was and is a huge success. It is worth visiting just to see how they did it. Fantastic place. Gun shop, gun rentals, Class III, Training, Ranges, all together and coordinated.

Never mind, friends. I sent my brother a very long, thoughtful message, telling him what he needs to do:
Go to a range for frqeuent practice; get proper instruction; learn how to safely handle, transport, maintain, and fire the weapon; rent different guns at the range until finding the right one for him; ask a ton of questions of instructors. Oh, and he said something to me about “firing warning shots,” to which I replied: “forget everything you every saw in movies or on TV about warning shots. Warning shots are stupid, they’re dangerous — and frequently, they’ll land you in jail, even in a gun-friendly state like Arizona. A good instructor will tell you this very same thing.”

His response? “I don’t have time for any gun clubs or anything like that... I work 14+ hours a day... every day, and the nearest one is 20+ miles away. I was thinking of a Glock”

So, basically, he’s going it ignore every safety instruction and good practice, and just do what he thinks is right (which is wrong). He never listens to anyone but himself.
