A group of homebuilders are beginning work on a project slated to bring about 1,194 homes to a 500-acre development along Lake Lewisville in Denton County, which is being developed by Charlotte-based Crescent Communities in partnership with Taylor Duncan Interests.
The builders K Hovnanian Homes, Highland Homes and MHI McGuyer Homebuilders expect to soon begin construction on the model homes of the community, called Wildridge, with the first models completed by June.
The homes will range in price from the $300,000s to the $500,000s. The homes will range from 1,800 square feet to 4,800 square feet of living space.
"These top-notch builders are bringing a wide selection of homes to Wildridge that will assist in realizing the aesthetic vision for the community, enhancing the property's character and the residents' quality of life by preserving the natural environment," said Steve Yetts, a senior vice president at Crescent Communities, who is overseeing the master-planned community.
Wildridge will include a community center with a pool, parks, walking trails, natural ponds and other amenities for residents. The community is located near Oak Point Elementary School, which opened in 2008.
North Texas' residential market has been hot as thousands of jobs are brought to the region through company expansion or relocation. This spring's rainy weather has caused a little bit of delay in construction, but that hasn't stopped the demand for homes.

My whole house could fit into the living room of the 4800 square foot models.
I bet they will tap into the same water source as everyone else, expect more “low reservior levels”
Will the American people build this or will they pick up some illegals to do the job?
Get ready for a flood of illegals. I worked for Hovanian. It costs them next to nothing to build these things, every other unit he puts in his pocket, the sub-contractors hire illegals and pay them cash. Everything’s a write off and in the end the surrounding towns get screwed with more people to deal with.
In Texas, if your roofing crew speaks English, you hired the wrong contractor.
American people will build these homes and illegals will be given the home when they show their social security card to the on-site social worker.

And the traffic that direction is already horrible.
I am all for building. But there’s not water. I use to live in the area. Wichita Falls is putting sewer water direct I to the water supply because there’s nothing left. I don’t see 500,000 $ home doing without nice lawns.
I live maybe 10 miles from there. We have plenty of water, no restrictions.
this strikes me as a commercial for homes which most Americans can’t afford....
We are building a home near there in Little Elm. Not for near those prices though.
There are lots of good jobs in Texas. Other places? Maybe not so much. They wouldn’t be building 1,200 homes if they didn’t think they could sell them. My wife has us watch a lot of these “house hunter” shows where little cracker boxes start at $400,000 to over a million dollars.
...Not sure what is so special about this? There’s tons of developments that have sprung up, especially in the past decade as DFW has grown like crazy, mostly the far northern cities. I know several neighborhoods that are being built in Plano and Wylie and Murphy/Parker.
Did I miss something?
My wife’s doctor is in Little Elm. Nice little town. The Kroger there actually carries furniture and has a jewelry store inside it.
