Why Moral Values Matter

Morality may be ignored, but it never ceases to provide the foundation and guidelines for a healthy society.

“We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge or gallantry would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution is designed only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate for any other.” —John Adams (1735 - 1826), second President of the U.S.A.

It’s hard to consider the success of the book and film “Fifty Shades of Grey” without thinking that America has become morally bankrupt in terms of its views toward sexuality and, of course, in other ways as well.

At about the same time I was thinking this, a recent issue of The Wall Street Journal had an article titled “Unmarried…With Children.”

"Our Constitution is designed only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate for any other."

That is why people who demonstrate an aversion toward morality (e.g. proponents of abortion, homosexuality, and charity by theft) are preeminently disqualified from voting and effecting public policy in the United States.

Culture determines more than economics. We need to restore both the culture and the economy.

If nothing really matters and you can do whatever you please, then why does the left get so huffy about "insults"?
Moral codes and codes of conduct exist so you can predict the outcome of certain actions.
Some actions are good and others definitely are not.
You might disagree but at least if you know and understand the rules, then break the rules at your own peril.
Having no rules is like walking across a minefield, you will discover the hard way that rules and consequences do exist, whether you acknowledge them or not.
Every generation have an obligation to teach the next about it.

Morality simply means right vs. wrong.

Leftists claim to be moral reletivists, but of course they aren’t.

Political correctness is simply them attempting to impose their moral code on everybody else.

That is doesn’t involve sexual morality is not relevant to the basic issue.

The truth is that once society turns the corner it can never go back.
