4:44 minute video begins with scenes of the 4 month union siege on the Wisconsin state capitol.
Walker was "at one time the most divisive politician in America."
Occupy Wall Street was born in Wisconsin.
"All hell broke lose" inside the Capital when he signed the bill.
"He was compared to Hitler, Osama bin Laden - dead man walking."
Then the interview begins:
One point of note: Walker believes that the next president and vice president need to be current or former governors - "those who have done successful things in their states, who've taken on big reforms and are ready to move America forward - exceptionally removed from Washington."
4:44: ABC's Jonathan Karl goes one-on-one with the Wisconsin governor.
Bold leadership with a vision and the ability to communicate those values to the people.
It must be Ted Cruz. Walker can be part of the equation though.
That's just dumb...in no small because both men transcend single state politics. West in particular has a much more attractive blue collar pedigree (military, minority, southern) than the buttoned up Cruz does.
I'm thinking that the other side is going to shake down one Granny - HRC or more likely Warren, and one Commie of Latino descent (I maintain that a Castro brother is going to be in this mix somehow, either as the "Hispanic Obama" or as a VP
A choice of Martinez would blunt both the "first female" and "first Hispanic" memes.
It played well in Wisconsin with Walker/Kleefisch, and I think it would play well nationally.
I love Ted Cruz, but he is much needed in his role in the Senate if we are to have a chance of even nominally repairing the damage that's been done over since 2008.
Your argument is with the 12th Amendment, not me.
West in particular has a much more attractive blue collar pedigree (military, minority, southern) than the buttoned up Cruz does.
Hogwash.
We need to change the life time terms of these criminals who entrench themselves in thier little criminal empire and retire, if they retire! with millions in thier off shore accounts.
Ted Cruz may be many things, but blue collar ain't one of them...and he's about as southern as Alberto Gonzales.
Oh, I would wholeheartedly support Martinez on the ticket, too!
A war President will need people who know how to manage... this makes sense.
Neither is West. He's second generation army, attended West Point, and never worked blue collar in his life.
Make that University of Tennessee.
Scott should stop trying to disqualify the other candidates and finish figuring out his core beliefs.
You’re right that governors do have experience running something which isn’t wholly dissimilar to a country, and they can be weak in foreign policy areas. I don’t think we’ll be electing a military leader again for a long time. The country is very different from what it was in Eisenhower’s or Grant’s or Jackson’s day. And intellectuals also can be trouble. One with diplomatic experience might work out.
Leading troops in battle isn’t blue collar?
Well bless your heart son...
First time I've ever heard it described as that.
Hogwash!
