Media and potential opponents are scandalized that Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker is considering a run for president even though he didnt graduate from college. But if Walker (who dropped out of Marquette University in his senior year) won in 2016, he would be joining an exalted group that includes the two presidents most frequently named as the favorites of the American people.
Eleven presidents exactly 25 percent were not college graduates. Most prominent on that list are George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, who make up half of Mt. Rushmores foursome and are in the top three or top five in virtually every popular survey of favorite presidents. (A 2007 Rasmussen poll put Honest Abe and the Father of Our Country at number two and number one, respectively.) The most recent president to forego the benefits of a sheepskin was Harry Truman, and the list includes other fondly remembered (and a few barely remembered) chief executives.
Meet the presidents who dropped out or didnt make it to college at all:

the dems are going to create a backlash over this pretentious education firestorm.
Yup, all the good ones never did graduate.
And given the utter worthlessness of most college degrees nowadays (especially the ones from you know where), one would think that a degree introduces strong suspicions about the intellect of the possessor. (STEM excluded, of course.)
Obviously, not having a formal higher education worked well for President Lincoln and the others. So why is it so important to Howard Dean and the rest of the media azzhats?
I’m waiting to hear it from Brian Williams, who didn’t graduate either
I’m guessing most of our laws were much simpler in those days, not to mention the fact there were fewer of them.
Only surprising if you’re somehow unaware of how much more common—and watered down—college degrees are today than in the past.
Rush didn’t go to college. He seems to do pretty well. I didn’t and I’m very happy with my life. College wouldn’t have changed it. Except they would have tried to brainwash me into a liberal dolt. And at 19, it may have worked.
Good points.
contrast walker to the multi-degreed and sandra fluke, who wanted everyone else to pay for her birth control pills.
I don’t care if Walker has a degree, many very successful people didn’t go or didn’t graduate from college.
I do care if he believes in the rule of law.
Without it, we become North Mexico.
When you go to college in this post-FDR era you just get intoctrinated with socialicistic perversions of the Constitution anyway. When was the last time that anybody ever heard of Congresss constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers for example?
If a college degree was such a wonderful thing our country wouldn’t be in the sad shape that it’s in. To illustrate my point: most of our elected officials have college degrees. We’re a country governed by a bunch of educated idiots with college degree(s).
The list of Presidents who were imbeciles is even longer.
Matt Lauer is another one who dropped out of college. Would be nice to see him defend Walker on this: Don’t expect that to happen.
Leftists want to define him and paint him into a corner early, because Walker gained a lot of momentum from Iowa.
They don’t have much else, so they are grasping at straws — or a lack of a ‘sheepskin’.
I think there was still a Bar in Illinois.
I am not sure you have to have a JD to sit for the Bar nowadays. I could be wrong.
