While I think it’s absurd to assert that white people should be “banned” from making jokes about white people, I do find most white comics’ riffs about white people to be obvious pandering to black people. Most white comics who riff on white people posit that: white people have no right to complain about anything because they are white and, therefore, per se “privileged”; and white people are dorky. Yawn to both points.

Another attack on “white privilege”?

There were a few times when I could have used a little of that “white privilege”, but no, I had to fall back on just being able to do the job to the best of my ability. There are just an awful lot of folks out there who have NO INTEREST in trying to live in a color-blind, or at least color-neutral, world.

If you want to have the “white privilege” then just start “acting white”, that is, to rely on the God-given talents you have, and work to put them to use in the most beneficial way to yourself and others. There is an attitude that needs to be adjusted in a big way, that color, and not content of character, should be the controlling factor in “affirming” special favor in the market place.

Merit knows no color.
