While I think it’s absurd to assert that white people should be “banned†from making jokes about white people, I do find most white comics’ riffs about white people to be obvious pandering to black people. Most white comics who riff on white people posit that: white people have no right to complain about anything because they are white and, therefore, per se “privilegedâ€; and white people are dorky. Yawn to both points.
Her point seems to be that all whites are bad, but when whites make fun of white people they are trying to exempt themselves from the “bad white people” category and that should not be permitted.
