Before reading this article, you should be warned, what this student was served at lunch is truly disgusting to look at.
A 15-year-old student posted online earlier this month the following picture of the school lunch he received:
The original poster wrote with the submission, "Complaining about school lunches? Here's my school's 'Philly Cheese Steak.'"
Recently, major changes came to school lunches because of the efforts of the First Lady, Michelle Obama. The USDA claims that "the new standards align school meals with the latest nutrition science and the real world circumstances of Americas schools."
It was only recently that dozens of teenagers posted their lunches to social media, specifically calling out Michelle Obama for the reforms she pushed.

Mooch should be forced to eat that disgusting meal.

Hey, there was a Philippine company I read about in National Geographic back in the 70s that marketed canned rat meat under the label STAR Meats (note the palindrome of STAR). Yes, from the giant rice paddy rats.

I never minded Army food - in the field or in the mess hall.

I ate C-rations while stationed in Thailand. A bit heavy on the fat, but still pretty good, even cold. Definitely better than Mooch's idea of a school lunch.

The MRE offerings are a mixed bag. Some are much better than others. They discontinued some pretty tasty ones.

I’m not sure Sheriff Joe would serve that to the prisoners in tent city.

"The MRE offerings are a mixed bag. Some are much better than others. They discontinued some pretty tasty ones." I had a few back in the late 80s. My Dad was in charge of the Mess hall in his Army Reserve unit and he would bring some home occasionally. I remember the beef stew wasn't bad and the chicken and rice was good too.

That is so disgusting. How is that a philly cheesesteak?
My kids are thankful I cook delicious meals for them. I show them these pictures of ‘food’ whenever I see them.

What animal is that!?!
the meat looks like processed corned beef and then boiled which is why is has that film on it. I’m sure it is filled with chemicals and preservatives also.
