Fargo, North Dakota has not been a hotbed of violent crime. That may have changed with the oil boom that has been going on for the past decade. It appears that a number of transients and homeless people have found their way to the city. Last Monday, at noon, it was just below zero with a 10 mph wind. It was not a good time to be outdoors. To be knocked unconscious and left to lay exposed could have been fatal.
Fortunately for the victim in this crime, a concealed carry permit holder witnessed enough of the assault and robbery to hold the four suspects at gunpoint until the police arrived. From inforum.com:
Lt. Joel Vettel said one of the four knew the victim and lured him behind a building in the 900 block of NP Avenue. There, the man was assaulted, knocked unconscious and robbed of his wallet, Vettel said. All five people participants are now out of the weather. The four suspects are in jail, and the victim is likely in the hospital, at least for observation. Being knocked unconscious often has serious consequences.
Police were dispatched to the scene about 12:10 p.m. and learned that the passer-by, who has a license to carry a concealed weapon, brandished his gun to end the robbery, Vettel said.
Thanks Doug! Zaza is an amazing player, and I’m happy he decided to include me on a few of his cps. He could have gotten anyone. He often works with drummer Steve Smith, and other well-known musicians. He’s a world-rekowned player, but, because of stoopid musical fads in the US, is best known in Europe and Asia. He’s just back from over a month in China! Isn’t that interesting? Totally sold-out tour!
>> I wonder when we will discover that these perps...were dreamers

Their names are Spencer St. Claire, Michael Guy, Linda Miller, and Flora Eaglechasing.
Funny names for “dreamers”. I’ll bet they’re Injuns. Oops, I mean Native Americans, don’t I.
The name Flora Eaglechasing..make pretty good evidence that theyre not from south of the border,,yep!
I figured they were Injuns, having relatives in the Dakotas who describe the native Americans in very colorful terms.

I hope they don’t get Siouxed.
In cold weather, I tend to prefer coat-pocket carry. Nobody thinks it unusual to be walking along with your hands in your coat pocket, and the fastest draw is when you already have it in your hand.
Opera singers use NO "pa" system, no mikes, ever. They wouldn't be opera singers if they needed mikes and pa systems.
Their orchestras are right below them in the orchestra pit. THAT is part of being an opera singer. They don't "bellow"; that is "Las Vegas" singing.
An opera singer has to be able to SING, not bellow, to the last row in the balcony...even when the music calls for "softly."
Subtitles have been a part of opera for decades now. So there's no reason not to understand the words.
Opera makes one laugh, cry weep, get goosebumps from the beauty of the music...and carries one away. Not all the composers wrote GREAT stuff all the time, but when they did, my, oh my.
American soprano, Beverly Sills said that her own singing send chills of delight up her back. She was AB-FAB!
--Mozart's operas and music sound like they're coming straight from heaven.
--Verdi's operas give me goosebumps.
--Puccini's operas make me weep at the beauty of the music and arias.
--Wagner's operas are so beautiful that they carry me away to Valhalla.
Doubtful they will get tomahawked, but Mexicans do not function well in sub-zero temps.
LOL
Great explanation, but I still don’t like the operatic voices. Guess I’m too modern. I like natural voices, and operatic voices seem to me to be very unnatural. Just a difference of opinion! No big deal. As an instrumentalist, I only hear voices as ,,,, sort of, another instrument. I never know what the lyrics are about, as I’m totally into the instrumentation. But,,,, that was my job, if you know what I mean?
The Indians’ equivalent of the Al Sharpton/Jesse Jackson/Eric Holder whiteys’ “reparation plan”.
A 2X4 is the proverbial board of education to a thug.
Well, God did give us voices to sing.
True story
I used to go to a church where there was always this one HORRIBLE voice from a woman who sang LOUDLY. DREADFUL!!
I mentioned it to the organist one day and he said:
God made her voice so He should have to listen to it too.
Lol. After that I used to smile when I heard her.
That was so good that I gave it a font size five!! Lol.
Hey Doc, that's excellent!
Mr. Zaza is one hell of a guitarist (fast arpeggios, pinch harmonics, tapping, etc. etc.). I hadn't heard of him.
But it's hard for me to pick the guitars apart through the mix - is the lapsteel up front at any time? Are you using distortion?
I've paid attention to you guys since I got here--long after you, it is true--and I would have expected better from both of you.
.
“Lol. After that I used to smile when I heard her.
“
Great!
I have defended their rights too. As did my father and my brother. And countless others in my family. Including a few who gave the ultimate sacrifice.
And, as far as that goes, we have defended YOUR right to hyperventilate like a thin-skinned humorless prig.
Lighten up, Francis.
On second thought, do whatever the hell you want. Strut around like you have a corncob up your butt — you’ve earned the right! I’ve pretty much ignored what you have to say since the last time you acted like a jerk over nothing, anyway.
” is the lapsteel up front at any time? Are you using distortion?”
I pushed through Amp Farm. As I recall it was a Deluxe Reverd pushed hard. You can hear me clearly for the first few bars of the intro, and the last few of the outro. But I played the rhythm through the whole song. Power chords with no sliding. Here’s another tune from the same cd, that I played pedal steel guitar on.
