For nearly 2 decades, possible adoption of the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty has concerned gun owners who fear the deliberate destruction of their 2nd Amendment rights.
On December 24th the ATT goes into effect in the United States thanks to the signature of John Kerry on behalf of the Obama Administration. Beginning today, Coach is Right will provide background and current information on Treaty terms and what they can mean to Americans across the nation.

In 2006, the United Nations decided it was time to explore the feasibility, scope and draft parameters for a comprehensive, legally binding instrument establishing common international standards for the import, export and transfer of conventional weapons.
The Bush administration voted against the creation of this proposed Arms Trade Treaty, believing that such oversight would be more productive on a national level. But on October 30th, 2009 Barack Hussein Obama reversed course, quite possibly turning the sovereignty of the United States, its Constitution and the rights of its gun owning public over to Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and the member states. Many believe this decision to represent a serious threat to the right of the American people to keep and bear arms.
Claiming that the UN treaty would affect only international arms trafficking, Hillary Clinton said, conventional arms transfers are a crucial national security concern for the United States, and we have always supported effective action to control the international transfer of arms. But former UN Ambassador John Bolton is not buying the international aspect. In an interview with NRA News, Bolton stated, the administration is trying to act as though this is really just a treaty about international arms trade between nations, but theres no doubt
that the real agenda here is domestic firearms control. Continuing on,

Zero chance that two thirds of the Senate will go for this.
Any time a firearms-related thread is created on FreeRepublic, please be sure to add the "banglist" keyword to it so that interested FReepers don't miss it. Just a suggestion.
Let Freedom Ring,
It’s OK. Zero will “decree” it.
Just received this from NRA-ILA, for what it’s worth:
Last week, Congress approved the Fiscal Year 2015 Consolidated and Further Continuing Appropriations Act. Included in the Act were a number of pro-gun provisions that prevent the Obama administration from implementing its anti-gun agenda.
the Act prevents funds from being used by the Obama administration to implement the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty.
There are an estimated 400 million firearms in USA citizens’ hands (depends whose numbers you read). No unitednazis “treaty” is going to change that.
I would be more concerned about Obama and the radical left than the UN. You can probably bet heavily that another FAST AND FURIOUS (or similar attempt) will be coming the way of real Americans...another pass at damaging the Second Amendment.
Should read “ United Nations threatened by our second amendment rights”
That’s true. It seems to me that this kind of a global gun control treaty will do for the world exactly the same thing that gun control legislation has done for America, prevent good people from obtaining the means to oppose bad people who will always find a way to obtain guns.
Let the UN come to get our guns, let them start by coming to Maine were the Militias are convinced that we are the first and last line of defense.
US out of the UN, UN off US soil!
Senate ratification not necessary in Obama's world.
He'll direct the government abide, and ask who will stop him.
Blue helmets == easy targets.
I recall reading that the cromnibus actually gave POTUS one billion dollars for gun violence research, which means one billion for more gun control. I could be wrong, but it sounds to me like the Republicans didn’t know what the hell was in this Bill before they passed it.
So even if the UN Treaty never goes into effect in the US, will its effect on other countries prevent our importation of foreign arms and ammo? If so, this will still hit us hard.

.
Is this not treason?
And why is Congress silent about this?
The real question for those who are "willing" would be, do they want to see their
families again and would their maiming and deaths be worth destroying America.
The 2nd Amendment is the 2nd for a reason and at the top just below the 1st.
Imo, the 2nd should have been number one in the Constitution because man
is so beyond fallibility and can become so enamored in power they would be willing to
kill their own families for power, or even die to just hold ultimate power for a day.
Instead of us dying for our Rights, let them die trying to take them away
from over 30-Million Veterans.
zero chance we’d ever elect a marxist racist as a President too.. eh.
