I told Harvard I was an undocumented immigrant. They gave me a full scholarship.

When I discovered my status in high school, I was worried I wouldn't be able to attend college at all.

After I arrived home from soccer practice, the phone rang. “El Camino,” my mother said as she handed it to me, referring to a nearby community college. I was taking engineering courses there, offered in conjunction with my high school, but the woman from the registrar’s office had a problem: The Social Security number I had provided to receive college credit did not match my name, and if I couldn’t provide a valid number, I’d have to pay almost $2,000 for the classes I’d taken.

Why, I asked my parents, had my Social Security number been rejected? They told me they had given me my little brother’s number. It was a simple explanation, taking no more than 10 seconds in Spanish:

“Son, we overstayed our visa when you were three. You don’t have a social security number.”(continued)

He hasn’t tried to get citizenship then?

What his parents did was child abuse. They subjected their children to the possibility of deportation.

The whole idea is to make actual Americans extinct.

Tell them you are a native American and you could get a tenured position on staff!

For [undocumented] students, the only way we can admit them at this time is as an international student. They would then need to leave the US and return through an international border.

Huh, why does that sound familiar?

Incredible. Nowhere does he talk about becoming a legal citizen.

Hypocrisy with a big old smile. He’ll do well at Harvard, and also in the work world after that. He’s got exactly what they want: no conscience.

I have no idea is this was really true, but I grew up in a very rich, very WASPy town. A kid down the stree (very preppy) wanted to go to Dartmouth, but absolutely did not have the grades -- but he applied anyway and told them he was black.

He got in.

At least that's how he explained to us how he got in.

Oscar and I decided that no school was worth bankrupting our families....

Oh really? Why not? How many American families have had to sacrifice to put their kids through college, and not even Ivy League ones? This b**tard and his friend are receiving Ivy League educations without having to pay one dime for them, because they are perceived as "different". Because their parents jumped the border to get here. What a country.

identity theft... illegal alien...

and gets a full ride that would have gone to an actual American

does harvard receive ANY funds from the fedgov?
shouldn’t they lose those funds for supporting such activity?

(i know.. .they’ll not only keep their funds, but they’ll get increased funds to help the other 41m illegals in the US)

So rather than realizing he was stealing a slot from Harvard from Americans born here, and then thanking America for his privilege of its own citizens, he complains that other illegals don’t have the luck he had. So, it’s clear he’s a vicious anti-American intent on going through life stealing everything he can from Americans and laughing all the way to the bank. Bastard!

He is not even thinking about it. I checked the source to see if comments were allowed—not—but read this...

“I used to think that being undocumented was a disadvantage to me. I used to mourn the fact that I was different. But ultimately I realize that it was because of, not in spite of, my identity — as an undocumented Chicano — that I was been able to do what I did. Being something different in the socioeconomic fabric of the United States gave me the perspective I have.”

It is call rewarding evil and it does not teach righteousness.

Does he consider himself an American or a foreign national? He had no control over what was done when he was three years old. Mixed feelings about that, fairness and all. Should I don my flameproofs?

“There are students whose parents have never filed a tax return”

And OUR GOVERNMENT knows who every last one is and REFUSES to Prosecute them for TAX FRAUD. Only mere CITIZENS are required to follow those laws. Actually it is worse than that Our Government PAYS them to commit FRAUD, by giving them WELFARE.... This MOOCHER should go back to Mexico with his Entire Family and be grateful for everything they got away with STEALING, from American Taxpayers.
