Mayor Hodges of Minneapolis is all wet.
I recently wrote about Mayor Sly James of Kansas City saying that "Too much violence is committed by guns". I was skeptical that he had actually said that, because the Mayor is a well educated man, and served on active duty as a Marine. It is a nonsensical statement to say that violence is committed "by" guns. It transfers volition and responsibility to an inanimate object. But, with another Mayor saying much the same thing, I begin to wonder.
Minneapolis Mayor Betsey Hodges, at a "Gun Violence" conference in Milwaukee, used the same improper transfer of volition to inanimate objects. As reported by jsonline.com:
Hodges said urban gun violence is a moral issue, with thousands of teenagers killed each year by guns, as well as a political issue, because most victims and suspects have similar backgrounds, including criminal histories. No, Mayor Hodges, the teenagers are not "killed each year by guns". They may be killed "with" guns, but the difference is crucial. They are killed each year by each other, primarily. It is not a lack of jobs or education that causes them to kill each other. It is a lack of responsibility for their actions, a lack of respect for themselves and others and their property, and a lack of respect for the rule of law, that causes them to kill each other.
Guns don’t kill people: bullets do.
thousands are killed by guns, mostly by either police killings or by black gangs.
So, why come after our guns, us who are neither black or police gang members?
But people cause problems. This fact is the same with cars too. The person behind the wheel of the car makes all the difference quite often . The person with the gun, likewise.
That’s the important fact: if we took away the gangs, we would likely have less than 1 murder per 100,000.
We have the level of crime because because publically we are not honest about it’s causes. A gov’t war on legal gun owners and law abiding citizens is dishonest and ineffectiove.
Kansas City mayor should answer, “Should Brandon Howell be set free again because it was the gun violence?”
Brandon Howell was free because of a failed “justice system.”
Because YOU are the real threat to the elite.
You with your ideas of autonomy,
of not depending on them to stay alive,
of using THEIR resources to live a lifestyle
nearly equal with theirs.
You can’t blame them for seeing you as a threat
that needs to be disarmed.
Illegals kill and injure more I am betting with guns and cars....and we continually let them have the way to do so!
Try that at one of your speeches mayors....as you rule with your eyes wide shut!!

Nikki age 8
Thousands are killed by cars.
Thousands are killed by drugs.
Millions are killed by abortions.
How about we ban all of them?
Please help Nikki’s case go VIRAL. Our governor is a RINO, and won’t use the DP unless we can force him to it. Our new State AG is his appointed RINO. This is an election year for our governor.
Because Minneapolis Mayor Betsey Hodges is a Demonicrat and thus, a traitor to the United States of America.
You are ever so right.
Have you ever considered why stoning was the means of execution in the First Covenant? It was a means of public testimony that the one casting a stone was in agreement that the one being stoned had indeed broken God’s laws.
If a stone was NOT cast then the one not casting the stone was saying that the offender did no wrong. Just as we are to publicly warn others through our speaking that what they are about to do or are doing is an abomination to God, and in so doing exonerate ourselves in God’s eyes. Silence is acquiescence.
In God’s eyes this governor is participating in this child’s murder, yes?
Good point, God didn’t want condoning of wrong. This is true in Christianity too in declaring and making someone not a member of your church. It may seem harsh in the OT times, but then again, you also had God kings promoting evil then too.
