First they showed us the melting ice caps. But we just said: "Yeah. It's what ice does in summer."
Then they showed us the drowning polar bears. But we just said: "Proves nothing. And anyway the polar bear population has increased fivefold in 50 years, which hardly sounds like a species under threat."
Then they showed us the Hockey Stick. But we just laughed and made amusing videos about Michael Mann.
But then, they showed us their ultimate weapon: grainy, arty, black and white portraits of climate scientists with concerned expressions on their faces.
It was then that we knew our cause was lost.

I thought they looked bored and hungry, not scared. I can do a much better scared face!
Even knowing that most FReepers can field dress a moose with a small pocket knife, I present here only the tamest of the unretouched original photos. It does indeed convey some sense of their rising alarm, nearing hysteria. Note the torrid atmospheric conditions and rising water levels in the background.
Hay, Sarah Perkins. Ya got a little something on your lip. Can you clean that off? It’s grossing me out.
Behind the smoke, their government-linked benefactors’ real thoughts are on the likely extended solar minimum and magnetic field flip (more cold and unusual weather patterns). They want to come out of it with their money, and if possible, control over everyone else’s resources (real estate, fuel, water, food, etc.).
Ditto that
One guy’s really concerned that we’ll “lose control of the climate system”. Pray tell - When did we ever HAVE control over the climate????
"The first picture looks like one of those photos of somebody in a shantytown during the Depression."
You make a great point and I don't know if you were thinking of this specific photo:
... but it was widely used to garner support for FDR's idiot programs. The story they told about the subjects in the photo ("Seven hungry children. Father is native Californian. Destitute in pea pickers camp
because of failure of the early pea crop. These people had just sold their tires to buy food.") was a complete fabrication, just like Anthropogenic Climate Change. The woman's car had broken down right in front of a pea pickers' camp and she and her kids were temporarily stranded while her husband got the car repaired. Libs used photos to sell lies 80 years ago and they continue to do so today.
Tin Flannery is a wanker. Lives in a flash pad right beside the water yet continually mutters on about rising waters. He upset the Aboriginal grievance mob years ago for quite rightly pointing out that Australia’s megafauna was gobbled up and made extinct by early aboriginals. He also pointed out how they changed the environment radically via fire. All his talk about humans changing things drastically before arrival of the evil white man got him in trouble with the noble savage believing lefties and he veered off into climate change hysteria after that. Don’t you think a boffin concerned about rising sea levels would head for the hills. Instead he lives a few metres above sea level. Another thing about Flannery is just how damn ugly he is. No kiddin
Global scam to fleece the American taxpayers
Lawhamercy!! Those are some ugly people!
You know what stunned my beeber this week was watching Palin ice bucket thing
When exactly did mankind have the ability to control the climate. You can't lose something you never had. But he's an "earth system scientist," whatever that is, so he must know what he's talking about. And he's obviously very scared.
