According to USA Today, on Wednesday the U.S. Supreme Court blocked gay marriages from happening in the commonwealth, putting on hold the recent decision by the federal appeals court last month. That ruling ruled that the states ban on gay marriage was unconstitutional.
The news is important because the Supreme Court could soon be making a decision on whether or not gay marriage is unconstitutional, setting a national precedent and potentially making a ban on gay marriages nationwide, unconstitutional.
Since June of 2013, when the influx of lawsuits on gay marriage increased, many of the states have ruled the bans unconstitutional. However, many judges have blocked any marriages while the decisions are being appealed.
No. Proof? Prop 8.
This likely delays the inevitable. Remember Kennedy’s unlawyerly tirade in the DOMA case.
Is there any way these “marriages” can be considered a tax? - Chief Justice thinks to himself...
The kritarchy is ready to criminalize Christianity any day now
LoL!
Please pray for revival and for the Lord to heal our land.
Not in the cards.
The prophecies must be fulfilled. ALL nations must turn against Israel. The US has to lose its power for that to happen. No nation has ever prospered after having accepting homosexuality.
Enjoy the ride down.
We could have a revival before Armageddon and/or the Rapture? How fitting that the Left Behind remake is being released in October.
I didn’t know there was a remake in the mix. And I don’t see a nation-wide revival. A Ben Carson or Allen West presidency could spark it .but I don’t know.
Read Judge Simmon’s ruling for Tennessee’s SSM ban. SCOTUS is going to have to rule for state’s banning SSM. Yippie!! Yesterday read an article that said SSM activists know this to be true.
Sometimes these websites lets their bias get to their reporting.
“The news is important because the Supreme Court could soon be making a decision on whether or not gay marriage is unconstitutional”
The Supreme Court has yet to take any case involving any of the Circuit Court rulings on the constitutionality of same sex marriage. They are on their summer break and will begin deciding which case they are going to take up in October. They could schedule for hearing and decision all the way to next June. I would not call that making a decision anytime soon.
