The White House countered Rep. Steve Stockman, R-Clear Lake, in a statement Friday after the congressman had questioned whether President Barack Obama paid ransom for Sgt. Bowe Bergdahls release.
The United States did not provide money in return for Sgt. Bergdahl, National Security Staff spokeswoman Caitlin Hayden said.
Stockman, who has previously threatened to file articles of impeachment against Obama, sent a letter to the White House on Thursday asking if the administration offered money to the Haqqani network, the terrorist organization that held Bergdahl captive. The congressman claimed the Islamist insurgent group would use such ransom money to fund its terrorist operations.
The Haqqani Network generally does not release Westerners unless they receive a large payment, Stockman said in a statement released Thursday. It would be hard to believe they would release Bergdahl in an exchange that does not directly benefit them.(continued)

This was the same way Amazon, Facebook and Google very loudly denied ever having given any “backdoor” to the NSA:
They did, but were honest in denying that they did, and here is how they hear the sound of one hand clapping:
A backdoor is BY DEFINITION a thing the surveillance target does NOT know about and if the target gives ANY THING to another entity —including the NSA— then the target does in fact KNOW of the existence of that thing, making it IMPOSSIBLE for it to be a BACK door —it’s a FRONT door.
See?
So they did answer honestly when they denied it.
SICK, HUH..?
So:
Ya figger the White House is more honest than Amazon, or less so..?
Or much, much less so ?
Liars lie. That’s what they do...over and over and over.
It was BAKSHISH in that part of world for not beheading Bergdahl for 5 long years.
... or a surcharge, or it was paid to Qatar, which then paid the terrorists, or it was a tip, a fee, an excise tax, a donation in the terrorists’ name...
Plausible deniability is what they are doing. Ask if ANY cash was exchanged to any country, person or entity, with the express intent, implied or actual, of it being related to, or associated with the Berghdahl transfer?
Remember, these are the same assclowns that defined the definition of the word "is" is, just to skirt an answer to a question.
“did not provide money”
what about weapons or ammunition?
Did obama use a cutout to provide money to this group? Money for hostages. I would like to see the proof. Please let it be so.

The White House stated that the United States did not provide money in return for Bergdahl.
So they didn't really answer the question. The question I want asked: Did the US authorize or is the US aware of any payment made directly or indirectly by any party as a part of the Bergdahl release?
1. Obama didn’t actually make the payment, so you peasants misunderstood.
2. Bergdahl wasn’t a sergeant at the time, so some underling (close to retirement) misspoke.
3. It wasn’t paid for his release but as a precondition for negotiations that we deny ever entering into with these people.
4. We can do this all day. We’re the White House.
5. Just because.
6. We can.
7. And there’s nothing you or anyone can do about it.
How about gold. That’s not money.
The US provided weapons?
The US provided little boys?
The US provided vodka?
Etc.
But Obama did not give them money. Got it.
The United States did not provide money in return for Sgt. Bergdahl,>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Then who did pay? Ransom is the way things are done there. Were they paid in goats or sheep, or did the Obama Campaign fork over the money to the Taliban?
a 777 is not money. Didn’t someone claim it landed in Pakistan?
Pretty much. Why would anybody believe anything Obozo or his crew says?
Yes, unfortunately most people.
Here’s the Key to understanding this Presidency; Whatever Obama or his minions say is fact, assume and prepare for the exact opposite. You can’t go wrong!
The Colonel Klink theorem.
