Elliot Rodger Shooting Prompts Feinstein to Blame NRA ‘Stranglehold’ on Guns
Roll Call ^ | May 25, 2014 | Steven Dennis

Elliot Rodger’s shooting spree had Sen. Dianne Feinstein lamenting the “stranglehold” the NRA has over gun laws.

“The deadly shooting in Isla Vista is heartbreaking,” the California Democrat said Sunday in a statement. “Schools should be places of safety, not where students fear for their lives.”

Feinstein questioned why Elliot Rodger was able to legally obtain and keep his guns.

“We must ask ourselves if an individual whose family called police with concerns about mental health, who is receiving therapy and who has had several run-ins with police should be allowed to own multiple firearms and hundreds of rounds of ammunition. When anyone, no matter their mental health or history, can so easily obtain any gun they want and as many as they want—we must recognize there is a problem.

“Unfortunately the NRA continues to have a stranglehold on Congress, preventing even commonsense measures like universal background checks that have overwhelming support. Americans need to rise up and say enough is enough. Until that happens, we will continue to see these devastating attacks. Shame on us for allowing this to continue.”

Separately, Rep. Tim Murphy, R-Pa., pushed for Congress to pass his mental health legislation in the wake of the Elliot Rodger’s rampage in Isla Vista.

An effort to pass background checks and a package of mental health initiatives was torpedoed by a GOP-led filibuster in the Senate last year.

Actually authorities should have PUT HIM ON A PSYCH HOLD, which
was requested by ALL who were VERY CONCERNED!!!!! He purchased
the firearms legally, it is NOT about the legal purchase of the firearms it
is about the TIMING of the purchase and the WARNINGS from people
close to him!!!! How do YOU suggest we stop these REPEATED mass
shootings!!!!! THEY WANT TO TAKE AWAY OUR RIGHT TO BEAR
ARMS, yet when ALL the RED FLAGS are in PLAIN VIEW they choose
to do NOTHING, I guess you CHOOSE to do NOTHING also!!!!!

If [liberals] want to control something, why don't they try running a business.

Because they know -- damn good and well -- they would fail.

You can not jail pe0ple for what they post on youtube (unless you actually threaten the President).

Most jurisdictions now have laws against "terroristic threats", although it may be referred to by something else. California does ("Criminal Threats"):

CA PENAL CODE SECTION 422-422.4

"422. (a) Any person who willfully threatens to commit a crime which will result in death or great bodily injury to another person, with the specific intent that the statement, made verbally, in writing, or by means of an electronic communication device, is to be taken as a threat, even if there is no intent of actually carrying it out, which, on its face and under the circumstances in which it is made, is so unequivocal, unconditional, immediate, and specific as to convey to the person threatened, a gravity of purpose and an immediate prospect of execution of the threat, and thereby causes that person reasonably to be in sustained fear for his or her own safety or for his or her immediate family's safety, shall be punished by imprisonment in the county jail not to exceed one year, or by imprisonment in the state prison."

DiFi like all liberal politicians in power are very two faced when it comes to guns. It okay if they feel the need to arm them selves or to hire an armed guard, while telling the rest of us to be like those slaughtered in Santa Barbara:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_positions_of_Dianne_Feinstein#Gun_politics

“On April 27, 1995, at a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on “Terrorism in the United States”, Feinstein stated that — in the early 1970s — she applied for, and received, a license to carry a concealed gun after she and her family were threatened and their house physically attacked by a local terrorist group named the New World Liberation Front.

As Feinstein stated to the Senate panel:

“I want to just give you a personal anecdote about terrorism, because less than 20 years ago, I was the target of a terrorist group. It was the New World Liberation Front. They blew up power stations and put a bomb at my home when my husband was dying of cancer. And the bomb was set to detonate at two o’clock in the morning, but it was a construction explosive that doesn’t detonate when it drops below freezing. It doesn’t usually freeze in San Francisco, but on this night, it dropped below freezing, and the bomb didn’t detonate. I was very lucky. But, I thought of what might have happened. Later the same group shot out all the windows of my home. And, I know the sense of helplessness that people feel. I know the urge to arm yourself, because that’s what I did. I was trained in firearms. I’d walk to the hospital when my husband was sick. I carried a concealed weapon.

I made the determination that if somebody was going to try to take me out, I was going to take them with me.”

I’m beginning to question her mental state and whether she should have a gun.

So he lived with his mother and wanted to kill all women.

I don’t know, but, anyone talking to dear old mom about the nature of her relationship with him, what organizations she belongs to, or why he as a young man was interested in witchcraft?

Seems like a reasonable place to start.

Background checks? The 'new' DOJ wants these kinds of mass killings to happen, so they hand out bc approvals like crazy. They knew Rodgers was a sicko.

By the way, liberals and guns don't mix. These mass shooters are always Democrats!

Law enforcement WAS WARNED a week prior by one of this young mans psychiatrists,

Considering the general vicinity, the cops probably get several of these calls every week.

Betcha it’s in Di-Fi’s safe at home right now. Not only is she a wealthy liberal hypocrite, but she’s not stupid.

From the article:

First, three men were “repeatedly stabbed” and killed inside Rodger’s residence. They weren’t identified.

The rampage left six dead and 13 hurt, with eight suffering gunshot wounds, four hit by the suspect’s vehicle and one suffering a minor injury “of unknown origin,” Brown said.

The younger Rodger apparently telegraphed his intentions. The day before the rampage, he released a YouTube video entitled “Retribution,” in which he rants about women who ignored or rejected him over the past eight years, “since I hit puberty.”

So disturbed that a family member asked law enforcement officers to check on his welfare April 30, Brown said. They went to his residence, found Rodger “polite and courteous,” and left, Brown said.

Inside the car, police found three handguns — all legally purchased — and more than 400 rounds of unused ammunition,

end of excerpts http://www.keyt.com/news/Rampa...

Yeah, I can see how Martinez would blame the NRA. CA has some of the most lax gun laws because of it.

Note also Rodgers had purchased the firearm BEFORE cops showed up for a talk. How good of gun registration CA must have. It does not seem to be working for them

I remember the day when Americans went after Nazis like Feinswine. The NRA needs to sue her goatsmellin’ ass for defamation. The stupid, retarded b*tch.

"The government has enough bullets...."

Please explain your definition of a "Bullet".

How does a "Bullet" shoot someone or anything?

Is a "Bullet" more than an inanimate object, totally incapable of doing anything on its own?

Do you understand any of the language and terminology used to define shellcases, primers, propellant powder, bullets, cartridges or ammunition?

Do you understand the difference between a component of an assembly and the assembly itself? Do you refer to bread as "Flour"? Do you refer to concrete as "Cement"?

Why do you write about things which you do not understand?
