And to a poster named Cameron Smith, Peterson said, I give my left n** to bang down your door and come for your gun.
Of course, the conversation had become heated, causing Peterson to perhaps speak a bit more rashly than he would otherwise. And Im well aware of the good soldier cop argument stating that theirs is not to wonder why, theirs is but to do or die (even if it kills constitutional rights). Hey, I dont make the laws, says the dutiful constable, I just enforce them. But theres a problem with this position. And this is why I want to give you, my friends in law enforcement, the reasoned, moral argument for policeman nullification.
Even good people can live lives of contradiction and entertain ideas that simply arent true. For instance, if youre a cop, its easy to justify an action by saying that your job is only to enforce the law, especially since, on paper, this is certainly so. But the implication that you enforce every law, across the board, every time, without discretion is absolutely untrue and you, I and everyone else knows it. You dont ticket everyone driving 31 in a 30 zone, and many times even more egregious law-breakers get off with a warning. Some laws arent applied at all, such as a parking law in my town an officer told me was on the books but that we dont enforce. You use discretion all the time.

The above is said, tongue in cheek, sort of. No offense to CT leos
Come on, the cops is just being a good little jack booted thug.
Is someone getting a petition together to get this guy canned, and hopefully make it so uncomfortable for him that he chooses to live elsewhere?
The town council needs to hear from the people - “fire this guy or we’ll elect someone that will”.
Keep a record of what he said. It can be used against him in the future when he tries to harass an innocent citizen.
These are things many towns people say they are prepared to do.
That is definitely being worked on, both by us towns people and with help from a lot of Pro-2A groups. I highly doubt this guy will ever draw another check from working as a cop in this town again, but he's currently out on extended workers comp leave.
Last night I read with great interest the original thread on this subject. A Freeper policeman defended his fellow cop to the hilt...and got zotted.
Workers comp? Sprained ass or something?
Dibs on the cigar and single malt concessions.
GOOD!!!!
I don’t have a problem with people shooting rogue cops, and cops who enforce unconstitutional laws like Connecticut’s new gun laws are rogue.
Do you have a link to the thread?
One moment, I’ll dig it up....
It was pretty stunning the way this particular zottee claimed that cops SHOULD enforce unConstitutional laws.
MAN I love living in Alabama. We all are armed. And we all ain’t giving them up. Even most of our sheriffs agree. We are armed against the enemy. The enemy in my humble opinion is anyone inside the Beltway of Sodom on the Potomac. They have it all for themselves and screw the citizens and the Republic. They have enriched themselves out of our tax monies and are determined to to make us a socialist police state.
A home invader who comes for my Constitutionally protected firearms may also get a rather large knife. I would also happily “jury nullify” any charges against someone who similarly had their home illegally invaded, as would many of my neighbors.
Thanks. BTW, the zotee appears to have been reanimated. Strange goings on.
Good grief, you're right! What on earth....
