Can his teetering speakership survive this one?
Or better put- is there any reason we need John Boehner around anymore? Or is he planning to pull a 'Rove'... and stay on to haunt us, propped-up at the top of our party even as his record screams 'LOSER!' over and over again?
For me it's hard to imagine how Boehner will be able to effectively lead Republicans into this fall's election, and NOW is the time for a change. This sort of defeat will further undermine faith in this incredibly inept, unprincipled, and totally ineffective House Speaker- and hopefully getting us looking for an alternative ASAP.
His collaboration with the Obama Administration on spending -and now in a failed attempt at mass amnesty (and permanent GOP irrelevancy)- is truly inexcusable... while Boehner's lack of interest in investigating Obama lies, crimes, and yes, body count makes you wonder what kind of dirt this vile, mafia-esque White House has on the guy.
It seems almost a complete waste of time heading into this vital 2014 campaign with the same crew of nothings 'leading' the Republican Party... because this rusty old barge has got a jammed rudder, and his name is 'John Boehner'.
If this latest immigration debacle isn't enough to scare all Republicans away from the worst Republican House Speaker I can even remember, perhaps the clip from his appearance on Leno will do the trick- I swear he's drunk, and talk about a guy with nothing to say (except the government shutdown was 'our fault'... thanks John!)

Cry me a river John. Oh wait....he’s already done that!

Dopey thought he’d win with a “big idea” that’s only popular with Schumer Democrats.
He sure lives in an insulated world.

You’d be hard pressed to find a better example of failed leadership and incompetence (outside the Hut, that is...) - but who’s got the balls to take advantage of Boehners weakness and take control of the House?

this incredibly inept, unprincipled, and totally ineffective House Speaker-We are most fortunate that he is Inept and Ineffective. Just think where we would be if the man were Effective and Ept! If we can't get rid of him than we have to be thankful when he doesn't get his Democrat bosses' way.

The Hastert Rule applies, Speaker Boehner. Stick with the program.
If you can’t get your own party caucus on board, don’t go hoping to be vindicated by the support from the “alternative” party. They are not the ones who elected you to the Speaker position. And they are in no way beholden to you.
A knife in the back is a most unpleasant surprise, and not one that anybody would wish for as a gift. Yet you are trying desperately to hand the “alternative” party the knife.

The Repubs need to scrap Boehner in short order and vote in a far tougher infighter as Speaker. As much as I despise Nancy Pelosi, she knows how to do battle with her enemies. The GOP hasn’t had a fighter in the Speaker position since Gingrich.

I think a bunch of the GOPelites want to pass it so they can retire, because they have commitments from big business/chamber of commerce, contingent upon it passing.
Recall in the early 2000s the flood of GOPe retirees when Congress was about to change leadership.
If only we could follow the money ... but they make sure that will never happen.

Wasn’t it Bachmann who saved his skin/speakership in January 2013, when about 17 or so balked at his election as speaker?
The trouble is, they do the ‘it is his turn’ crap and the next one up will be either Ryan or Cantor, and many of us don’t see much of am improvement with either of those two.

Wait, I was told lesser evils like Bhoner were what we needed to elect because Dems are worse.
Seems to not be the case after all....I’m shocked.
