There are few prophetic events that stir the imagination more than the mark of the beast. For millennia, Bible scholars have attempted to decipher this cryptic code, but not until the end of the age did we have the geo-political world line up so precisely as to offer a plausible explanation that links global religious fanaticism with the ability (or inability) to buy and sell without a mark in the right hand or forehead.
Tonight, on Shabbat Night Live, Michael Rood will take you into the first half of the mark of the beast expose in preparation for understanding its relationship in the upcoming demise of the new world order.

That is the whole text of the council's letter; that's all that the holy spirit led them to lay on the new gentile believers.
Therefore it is not truncated; and it could be very dangerous for you to presume to lay more on gentile believers than the holy spirit did, no?
Then give all of Acts 15, including where he stated that the limited restrictions were only until they heard Moses preached in their synagogue every sabbath day. (Acts 15:21)Where do you get that from that verse? Besides, I thought you just said we shouldnt just take one verse like that.
That's because the verse he cites doesn't say what he thinks it says. In the verses immediately prior:
(Acts 15:13-21)So, as you can see; the mention of Moses is that he's been (past-tense) preached in these other cities for generations; not that these light restrictions are supposed to be in effect until Moses has been preached. Indeed, the letter that the council sends reads as follows:
After they finished speaking, James replied, My brothers, listen to me. Simeon has related how God first looked favorably on the Gentiles, to take from among them a people for his name. This agrees with the words of the prophets, as it is written,
After this I will return,
and I will rebuild the dwelling of David, which has fallen;
from its ruins I will rebuild it,
and I will set it up,
so that all other peoples may seek the Lord
even all the Gentiles over whom my name has been called.
Thus says the Lord, who has been making these things known from long ago.
Therefore I have reached the decision that we should not trouble those Gentiles who are turning to God, but we should write to them to abstain only from things polluted by idols and from fornication and from whatever has been strangled and from blood. For in every city, for generations past, Moses has had those who proclaim him, for he has been read aloud every sabbath in the synagogues.
(Acts 15:23b-29)A single paragraph. The brothers, both the apostles and the elders, to the believers of Gentile origin in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia, greetings. Since we have heard that certain persons who have gone out from us, though with no instructions from us, have said things to disturb you and have unsettled your minds, we have decided unanimously to choose representatives and send them to you, along with our beloved Barnabas and Paul, who have risked their lives for the sake of our Lord Jesus Christ. We have therefore sent Judas and Silas, who themselves will tell you the same things by word of mouth. For it has seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us to impose on you no further burden than these essentials: that you abstain from what has been sacrificed to idols and from blood and from what is strangled and from fornication. If you keep yourselves from these, you will do well. Farewell.
Of course it doesnt.
The zealousness upon which brethren are so eager to point out the error of other brethren’s biblical understanding, has me wondering aloud whether or not if this same energy to denounce one another was implemented to point out the errors of abject evil agendas being pushed on our society, if this culture we allowed to rot could have been saved?
But alas, beating up brothers and sisters in the faith seems far safer to engage in combat than the real evil that is binding us all into chains that will one day prohibit us from following The Lord as He leads us without government intrusion, punishment or death.
While tribulation and persecution are indeed promised us if we follow Christ, the loss of our society and nation did not have to happen on our watch.
We were just too busy bashing those who claim Christ that do not walk as we walk to care if we lost an entire society to Genesis 19 styled wickedness.
It’s more important to bash the ‘false followers of Christ’ than to bash the Pied Pipers of hedonism and abomination that are now infecting even the churches in our land.
How sad. An ekklesia divided will not stand either.
This man is teaching the Old Testament ‘law’ and not the New Testament ‘covenant’. Clearly the difference is marked.
..and if you go deeper still into comparisons between what he teaches and how he twists scripture you will see even more and understand why I say he is cult leader and what he teaches leads people away from the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
I never said he wasn't a Christian, I did say he had gone off track if he was....and I have my own reasons for questioning if he is which I have not shared here. Further his claims about himself are false...his desire is to be Jewish and is clearly seen throughout his testimony as well as his life since leaving Christianity.
But when it comes to his teachings, methods of and his followers spreading his bunk I will warn that he is dangerous as are his teachings ....because they are.
Further his followers will use threads, not for debates, but rather to push Roods teachings just as we see here..... additionally one of their tactics is to lure people in by using End Times events......bait and switch...and a common tactic false teachers use to sway people.
Regardless people have the choice to entertain this guy and his followers or not. But we as Christians have a responsibility before the Lord to give ample warning concerning false teachers and their twisted teachings when they ‘infiltrate’ to spread their wares.
I say again that Rood is an impostor and his teachings counterfeit...and those who follow him and spread his teachings are on a path of destroying God's good work by putting people back under the Law and rob them of their relationship with Jesus Christ as HE would have it.
Roods followers are all about spreading his messages, just as we see slathered on this thread right from the beginning and throughout this thread.........and it pains me to see this stuff on a Christian website where some cannot discern the difference between healthy debate on scripture and that of giving Roods teachings, and his followers a platform to spew His junk. Because that is what they are doing.
However we have the political problems of our day largely due to the fact of the infiltration of pagan and false teachings within the churches as well as those without against the body of believers...
Nope; see John 3 & 4, Acts 15, and Hebrews 4.
Nope??? (All of) Israel as well as Jesus were under the Law...See the Gospels as well as the O.T...
I posted scripture from Romans 2 that showed by following the Law one became 'justified'...Entire religions have read this and understand it...
Romans 3 shows that justification is no longer of the Law but now is of Grace thru Faith...
If Rood was "on a path of destroying God's good work by putting people back under the Law and rob them of their relationship with Jesus Christ", he wouldn't have invested 40 years of his life researching and writing the *The Chronological Gospels Bible*:
"After forty years of labor, including three decades of restoring the Ancient Biblical Hebrew Calendar, together with the experiences that accompany years of living in Jerusalem and the Galilee, Michael Rood presents the inspired Gospel records in chronological order to advance you in your lifetime quest for truth.
This Bible pieces together the life and ministry of the Messiah in a way no one has ever seen before. It reveals depth, beauty and truth in the Word that could never be understood until it was put together to tell the story as it happened complete and chronological."
Your inclination to condemn and bear false witness of others clearly demonstrates the dangers of interpreting Grace as allowing you to ignore the teachings of Yeshua, the Commandments of the Almighty he told us to follow, and of how he emphasized over and over how we should treat one another. Your version of churchianity is clearly what Paul warned us to avoid:
2 Corinthians 11:2 I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy. I promised you to one husband, to Christ, so that I might present you as a pure virgin to him. 3 But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpents cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ. 4 For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the Spirit you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough.
Maybe it just pains you to learn that your ideas don't necessarily match reality, once you discover you've inherited a worship of Pagan beliefs and traditions instead of those of the real Messiah. Anyone who carries on the way you have, usually means they aren't that rooted in their beliefs and don't fully understand what it is they do believe. I suggest that is because what they believe doesn't add up (i.e., make sense) and they know it deep down inside somewhere.
Btw, you are the one who hijacked the thread to make it about the Messenger and not the Message, which in this case was simply a discussion about the Mark of the Beast. I posted SNL last weekend as well. It hardly got a notice, thanks mostly to you we're approaching 200 comments.
Hey, I'm not complaining by any stretch. Perhaps our "discussions" will awake many others and cause them to start asking real questions about what they've been told and to begin a search for the truth in earnest and NOT just accept some false doctrine preached to them from whatever flavor of churchianity they happen to run across.
The great city is named in Revelation 11:
Ok, I'm perhaps confused here. But the "Great City" (i.e., [Jerusalem] which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified) isn't the great city in the prophesy of "mystery Babylon", as I understand it.
It's important not to confuse the two, unless you are suggesting "mystery Babylon" or the "daughter of Babylon" is Jerusalem? - in which case I differ.
Are you having trouble keeping your story straight? Let me see if I can help. Her is just some of your "witness" testimony so far:
And YES, Roods teachings will lead his followers to deny Christs deity.
Yes...he's one screwed up false cult teacher....last I knew he even dresses as an old time Jewish type Priest, .....
...anything which leads people away from the centrality of Christ is bogus. Rood and his teachings are bogus.
Roody and his followers are likewise following something else other than the Christ of Christianity.
Many people today think we all should carry a banner of gentleness and love when addressing these cults....but when souls are at risk by deceptive means some are called to go for the jugglar....
They strip Jesus Christ of His deity by doing this and give more weight to the Torah than to Christs words in the New Testament.
I stand on what I have stated. Roods IS dangerous and misleads people to something else other than a relationship with the Christ of Christianity....
Their tactics are not hard to see and the means and ways in which they counterfeit Christianity.
Roods is a cult leader and a counterfeit.
would not call Roody a Messianic Christian by any means.....
Ever hear the phrase: "You shall know them by their fruits"?
How naïve. Where did you ever see in scripture where Christ or the apostles taught to subject others or governments. Where is it taught that we are to fix society? Spreading the gospel is to individuals and nations but if they reject that gospel then we are to shake the dust off and move on. Exhorting and rebuking is for those who say they are believers but promoting doctrine that is in error. Discussing sound doctrine is from scripture. Subjecting people or nations is not.
Despite your assumed prowess with scripture, you apparently are woefully naïve about this nation’s foundation.
No one was discussing ‘conquering’ others or this government with the Gospel.
I was discussing PRESERVING our liberties which were ROOTED in both the Christian religion and biblical morality, a moral culture that the church was charged with maintaining.
Apparently we can’t do that according to people like you - we can only bash other Christians over their understanding of scripture while sitting silent in the face of a wicked agenda being imposed by force of law.
You’ll stand against other Christians and denounce them and their understanding, but you won’t stand against real evil and denounce wickedness being promoted as good while our right to free exercise is being eroded.
Real evil is not political, but spiritual.
The first thing Satan did in tempting Eve was to impugn the veracity of God’s word to them.
*Did God REALLY say....??*
Anyone who messes with Scripture to distort it to their end and to keep people from a genuine encounter with God through Christ is what is truly evil.
Too many people have their eyes set on this world instead of the spiritual reality around us and the long term consequences with the really important things of that spiritual reality.
What do you know about what I do or dont do? Also, perhaps you should familiarize yourself with the scriptures that say each person is called for different purposes. Or perhaps you should go denigrate your pastor for not trying to get elected to congress for not doing something to change this country. How about getting the church organizations to change and become political organization instead? Would that work in your world?
The carnally minded will always focus on this world wont they.
I perhaps have it wrong, but I'm holding to my thoughts that the destruction of Babylon happens prior to the rise of the two horned Beast that rises from the sea.
In Revelation the Angel carrying one of the bowls calls John to show him the destruction of Babylon. This is a parenthetical interruptions in the action. Granted it occurs at the very end of the book of Revelation, that doesn't also mean that the Angel's description of the destruction of Babylon then would prevent the actual event from having occurred sooner in what will take place. I pulled out my copy of the CG; didn't find anything that was greatly enlightening there either.
IMO, there is plenty of circumstantial evidence that leads me to believe the destruction of mystery Babylon occurs early on.
I find Matthew Henry's Commentary on Jeremiah 51 helpful.
There are many verses linked that impress upon me that the destruction of Babylon could not happen at the end and these verses still hold true. Just one as an example:
Jeremiah 51:9 We would have healed Babylon, but she is not healed: forsake her, and let us go every one into his own country: for her judgment reacheth unto heaven, and is lifted up even to the skies.
"Let us go every one into his own country", isn't something you would be able to do at the end of the tribulation and woe.
The verses listed at the link provided are telling and even suggestive of who mystery Babylon is, if we are now in the end times.
>> “It’s important not to confuse the two...” <<
.
There cannot be two. Terms do not intermingle in the word, particularly in one book of the word. There is one “Great City.”
If you examine the description of the Great city of Babylon, you will find that its characteristics match Jerusalem, mainly the slaughter of the prophets, which only happened in Jerusalem. There is no other city accused in the word of the slaughter of the prophets but Jerusalem.
Humm-mm...I see that in all you quoted there is no reference to my saying Rood is not a Christian, I never said that he wasn’t though you seem to think so........However,... indeed he is known by his fruits.... Roods teachings are not the Fruit of the Gospel of Jesus Christ....they are deceptive and misleading people away from the centrality of Jesus Christ to “something else”.
I stand on what I’ve stated concerning Roods teachings...He teaches Torah (Law) centric, not Christ-centric....as do his followers, which strips Jesus Christ of His deity and gives more weight to the Torah (Law) than to Christs words in the New Testament and the New Covenant (Freedom)...NOT a renewed covenant as Rood teaches......
John 1:17 - “The law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.”
Jesus didnt come to make Law breakers into Law keepers, He came to make spiritually dead people into spiritually alive people!
Obviously you've never read the Founders or DeToqueville. The political process is not what kept morality and liberty functioning in society. Obviously it's more important to you to bash other Christians for their 'errors' than stand with them on what you have in common against true corrosive evil.
Real evil is not political, but spiritual . Anyone who messes with Scripture to distort it to their end and to keep people from a genuine encounter with God through Christ is what is truly evil.
How do you know that Christians who follow biblical holy days or Hebrew customs do not have a genuine encounter with God through Christ?
You make my entire point. True evil is apparently what other Christians understand and believe from scripture that differs with how you understand scripture and that is the only evil Christians like you are willing to stand against.
Luke 9:49-50 is obviously lost on folks like you. You are accusing that of which you yourselves are engaged in - declaring that Christians can only be Christian if they follow your specific understanding and traditions.
