Lone Survivor star Mark Wahlberg: Prohibited from touching guns?

January 30, 2014

Mark Wahlberg, star of the current hit movie Lone Survivor, has a checkered past.

In fact, as a 16-year-old, Walberg pled guilty in 1988 to two counts of criminal contempt after beating a Vietnamese man badly enough that the victim of the attack lost an eye and was sentenced to two years in prison. The original charge was attempted murder.

At approximately 9:00 p.m. on April 8, 1988 Thanh Lam, a Vietnamese adult male who resides in Dorchester, traveled by car to 998 Dorchester Avenue, Dorchester, Massachusetts. At 998 Dorchester Avenue, Thanh Lam left his car carrying two cases of beer. As he crossed the sidewalk, Mark Wahlberg attacked Thanh Lam. Wahlberg was carrying a large wooden stick, approximately five feet long and two to three inches in diameter. Wahlberg approached Thanh Lam calling him a “Vietnam f,” then hit him over the head with the stick. Thanh Lam was knocked to the ground unconscious. The stick broke in two and was later recovered from the scene. Thanh Lam was treated overnight at Boston City Hospital.

After police arrested Wahlberg later on the night of April 8, 1988, Wahlberg was informed of his rights and returned to the scene of 998 Dorchester Avenue. In the presence of two police officers, he stated: “You don’t have to let him identify me, I’ll tell you now that’s the mother- who’s head I split open,” or words to that effect.

As a police officer arrived at the scene of 998 Dorchester Avenue, Wahlberg and two other youths who were with him fled up Dorchester Avenue toward Pearl Street.

“Frankly its a miracle he managed to overcome it and live a normal law abiding life today.”

I don’t think we can excuse that. If Walberg were a black “yute” would you still make the same comment ?

Yes 16 year old kids make terrible mistakes sometimes. Straightening out and living the rest of your life as a good law abiding citizen is a good way to make up for it.

Too bad the Vietnamese guy didn’t have a gun. We would have been spared Marky Mark and the funky bunch.

Matthew Modine was 28 when he starred in 'Full Metal Jacket'. I actually went to Parris Island at age 24, and my bunkmate was the oldest in the platoon at 26. I think I was older than one of my Drill Instructors.

What does that have to do with anything? Nothing, just a funny story. Never cared for Mark, I like Donnie from 'Band of Brothers' and 'Blue Bloods'.

Sorry, Mark, real life’s not like the movies: Wahlberg apologises for ‘ridiculous’ claim that he could have fought 9/11 terrorists and landed plane

‘If I was on that plane with my kids, it wouldn’t have went down like it did. There would have been a lot of blood in that first class cabin and then me saying “OK, we’re going to land somewhere safely, don’t worry”.’

I went to Google maps at the address, 998 Dorchester Avenue, Dorchester, Massachusetts…There a Vietnamese music store exactly at that address so I assume it’s a Vietnamese neighborhood?

Read my lips. I did not post the article nor did I post content from the article.

Marky Mark is a criminal scumbag who needed serious jail time for blinding a man for no reason but the color of his skin. If you have a problem with he who posted the article I will repeat once more

I DID NOT POST THE ARTICLE.

Wahlberg plead guilty to two counts of criminal contempt, was sentenced to two years imprisonment, and was released after 45 days…

45 days. More of of that hardline approach to crime libs take. Attempted murder and the POS walks after 45 days.

Aaaaaaand because hollywierd cannot not make movies with guns and so many of the “cool kids” may have convictions, the prop gun folks have come up with a solution. Looks like a real gun, but is electric, uses a cylinder of multiple flash caps, and is actually not a firearm.

Michael Bane did a show on the largest prop armory out west, and these things were part of it. They provide enough flash that the sound/foley folks can mark the spot for playback.

8 Examples of Hollywood Anti-Gun Hypocrisy

Jan 31 2013 - 7:25am by WireShots Staff

As part of the recent push for gun control, the improperly-named Mayors Against Illegal Guns—they’re actually against all guns—launched the campaign “Demand a Plan.” A key part of it is a video featuring A-list celebrities calling on Americans to demand a gun control plan from their elected officials. Problem is, almost all of these celebrities have made a lot of money waving guns around on-screen. The staggering hypocrisy of the video was too much for at least one person, who put together a video response to “Demand a Plan” that has since gone viral. Bluntly titled, “Demand A Plan—Demand Celebrities Go F*** Themselves,” it deftly intersperses the celebrities’ call for gun control with clips from their movies where they’re shooting guns.

For some reason, American society seems to idolize celebrities and actors much the same way Britons do royalty, even though they don’t actually do anything. Think about it: Their job is to play dress-up and make-believe, all while being paid huge sums of money, surrounded by people who constantly tell them they’re great. Is it any wonder they’ve lost touch with reality? Why anyone pays attention to what actors say offscreen is a mystery to me, but people do. While the list of celebrities who think with their heart—and in doing so, are strangers to logic—is very long, so here is a short list of “artists” who are publicly anti-gun, yet have no problem using guns to make money....

Does that include their armed guards turning their guns in?

"Markie Mark. Rapper. Nuff said."

Wow - The first time I ever even noticed Wahlberg was in "Invinceable", a great football movie. I had no idea he was the same guy as that asshole rapper.

If the poverty he experienced caused people to be thugs, then it would follow that 95% of the people in the world would be thugs, and 90% of the people at the time of the U.S. Revolution would have been thugs.

Poverty doesn’t destroy human character, entitlement does.

I get the impression though the only reason he is law abiding is because of all the money he makes. If he was working as a taxi driver I would not be surprised in the least if he was still pulling the same BS. All these rap punks turn out like this when they get a ton of money, 50 cent, Jay-z, Snoop-dog, all crack dealing punk ass killers. Actually I think 50 cent is the only one who wasn’t tried for attempted murder. There are a lot of times when I barely had 2 cents to rub together, was even homeless for a year but not once did I ever committed any crime, I think the worst I ever did was write my name on a guys car but I was like 8 at the time, but these punk asses had no problem doing stuff much worse. And that is just the crimes they were CAUGHT doing.

It has always been an immigrant neighborhood.
It was populated mainly by working class Irish from the early 1900’s until Vietnamese started coming in about 30 years ago.
