Lone Survivor star Mark Wahlberg: Prohibited from touching guns?
January 30, 2014
Mark Wahlberg, star of the current hit movie Lone Survivor, has a checkered past.
In fact, as a 16-year-old, Walberg pled guilty in 1988 to two counts of criminal contempt after beating a Vietnamese man badly enough that the victim of the attack lost an eye and was sentenced to two years in prison. The original charge was attempted murder.
At approximately 9:00 p.m. on April 8, 1988 Thanh Lam, a Vietnamese adult male who resides in Dorchester, traveled by car to 998 Dorchester Avenue, Dorchester, Massachusetts. At 998 Dorchester Avenue, Thanh Lam left his car carrying two cases of beer. As he crossed the sidewalk, Mark Wahlberg attacked Thanh Lam. Wahlberg was carrying a large wooden stick, approximately five feet long and two to three inches in diameter. Wahlberg approached Thanh Lam calling him a Vietnam f, then hit him over the head with the stick. Thanh Lam was knocked to the ground unconscious. The stick broke in two and was later recovered from the scene. Thanh Lam was treated overnight at Boston City Hospital.
After police arrested Wahlberg later on the night of April 8, 1988, Wahlberg was informed of his rights and returned to the scene of 998 Dorchester Avenue. In the presence of two police officers, he stated: You dont have to let him identify me, Ill tell you now thats the mother- whos head I split open, or words to that effect.
As a police officer arrived at the scene of 998 Dorchester Avenue, Wahlberg and two other youths who were with him fled up Dorchester Avenue toward Pearl Street.

In a 2007 story in the Australian Herald-Sun, Wahlberg contradicted his earlier interview in Visual Hollywood. In the Herald-Sun, Wahlberg was quoted as saying, Well, I would love it if they could take all the guns away
Certainly, I havent used a gun anywhere other than on a movie set and Id like to see if we could take them all away. It would be a beautiful thing.
Markie Mark. Rapper. Nuff said.
Everyone knows in his youth Marky Mark was a thug and it haunts him to this day. The bigger picture is in this day of FaceBook and Twitter no one will be able to escape misspent youth. I for one am glad I was able to escape some of the things I did.

Part Two: Missing the Mark
"I believe Charlton Heston is America's best villain because he loves guns so much," Wahlberg snottily proclaimed at the MTV Movie Awards. "Maybe he should get the award for being president of the National Rifle Association."
Upon meeting Heston on the set of Apes, Wahlberg rudely told him that it was "very disturbing meeting you."
I can see why. The last person a violent criminal wants to meet is someone who understands that people have a right to bear arms, and that Mr. Wahlberg is a disturbed young man is evident. Still, if anyone should have been wary, it was Heston, who instead graciously offered his respects. Because "respected actor" Wahlberg, formerly Calvin Klein underpants model and rapper Marky Mark, formerly a Dorchester, MA street thug, has an ugly and scary past. And if anyone's behavior illustrates why people need effective tools for self defense, this guy is quite an example ..

Thank for posting.
Good actor, typical Hollywood hypocrite.
Now his family has a new reality gig on cable.
I agree and unless he was tried as an adult, those convictions cannot be used against him.
from the comments in the article:
“He was 16 and tried as a juvenile. He has no felony record.
Your entire article is moot and pointless.
If you want to comment on why he should have been tried as an adult, fine he probably should have been.
“
"The Other Guys" gave the wooden gun to the wrong liberal.
Early reports from the scene of the interview detail how Mr. Wahlberg's interview was cut short when a crazed fan lunged from the throng of onlookers and bashed his head in with a baseball bat.
Scenerios:
Marky Mark attacks Vietnamese man with a stickball bat. Vietnamese man counters with a CCW .357 magnum S&W.
No more marky mark. My fantasy ending
He should have been tried as an adult.
I did not post the article as you stated wrongly
Marky mark can GFH in Macy*s window.
What always bothers me about Hollywierd’s portrayal of young military combat fighting men who were actually in their late teens up to thirty years old but acted by old men in their 40s and 50s, which continues with Marky Mark.
Yeah, I watched the first episode. IMHO it's nothing more than a commercial for the brothers restaurants.Doubt I'll be tuning that in again.............for my $$ it's Bering Sea Gold, scripted like the rest but entertaining anyway. just mt 2 cent.
Yes, Mark Whalberg has talked about his young thug years previously. he was the youngest of 9 kids and raised in poverty. Frankly its a miracle he managed to overcome it and live a normal law abiding life today.
will farell’s about a MOron too if you ask me
Post number 8 is an exact quote from the comments section of the article.
It is not my comment, it is what someone else said following the article at the original link.
One thing for sure, I'd never ride in the same plane as Todd Hoffman.
If it wasn't for bad luck...
