Every time I hear someone say that feminism is about validating every choice a woman makes I have to fight back vomit.
Do people really think that a stay at home mom is really on equal footing with a woman who works and takes care of herself? Theres no way those two things are the same. Its hard for me to believe its not just verbally placating these people so they dont get in trouble with the mommy bloggers.
Having kids and getting married are considered life milestones. We have baby showers and wedding parties as if its a huge accomplishment and cause for celebration to be able to get knocked up or find someone to walk down the aisle with. These arent accomplishments, they are actually super easy tasks, literally anyone can do them. They are the most common thing, ever, in the history of the world. They are, by definition, average. And heres the thing, why on earth are we settling for average?
If women can do anything, why are we still content with applauding them for doing nothing?
I want to have a shower for a woman when she backpacks on her own through Asia, gets a promotion, or lands a dream job not when she stays inside the box and does the house and kids thing which is the path of least resistance. The dominate cultural voice will tell you these are things you can do with a husband and kids, but as Ive written before, thats a lie. Its just not reality.
You will never have the time, energy, freedom or mobility to be exceptional if you have a husband and kids.
I hear women talk about how hard it is to raise kids and manage a household all the time. I never hear men talk about this. Its because women secretly like to talk about how hard managing a household is so they dont have to explain their lack of real accomplishments. Men dont care to manage a household. They arent conditioned to think stupid things like that are important.
Women will be equal with men when we stop demanding that it be considered equally important to do housework and real work. They are not equal. Doing laundry will never be as important as being a doctor or an engineer or building a business. This word play is holding us back.
or kill each other... (j/k)
In our area there is a local legend. She was an 8th grade English teacher. Anyone who suffered through her class will - without hesitation- describe her as the best teacher they ever had and writing was EASY after the 8th grade! Lol!
To this day I blame it on her when cringe in horror if I don’t catch a typo (dang phones!)
How does one become a ghost writer?
What kind of work do you do from home?
I think the logistics of being a reliable employee with few absences is tough to pull off in my present situation.
See? And I just cringed again for not typing that “I” lol!
Exceptin' you wake up with at least two venereal diseases instead of the smell of coffee, breakfast and three little kids watching cartoons.
I’m not sure, unless you were with your son, and he told all his classmates, “My mom rewrites all my papers, and she’ll do yours, too, for $20 an hour!”
Oh, testing and support for a software tool I helped develop. It’s a cozy little niche I happened into because I acquired domain knowledge, kept lines open to my previous workplace when we moved, and was willing when they needed it to do some tasks that nobody there wanted to do. So I sit at my desk and work and the kid sits at her desk and works and when it’s telecon time she goes and plays quietly in her room.
Since when is a vacation in Asia an accomplishment. Why do Marxist have need to control everyone’s lives?
Pray America is Waking
when she stays inside the box and does the house and kids thing which is the path of least resistance.
Gee. That is the most ignorant thing I think I ever red. Sure feel bad that you did not get that “Dating Game” for Christmas/Hannukah when you were 12.
Ohhhh Ha! A moral dilemma! Excellent ;)
That’s wonderful! I’m jealous.
I was a programming major once but couldn’t suffer through class after class with the ONE incompetent professor on staff. Sigh.
I wound up in finance but missed the programming.
Lately I’ve been taking those career oriented personality tests and 100% of the time programming is at the top of the list.
I have a little time to fiddle with classes but want to make sure I don’t waste it on stuff I won’t wind up using.
You wouldn't be here to accomplish all that you accomplish if somebody didn't get knocked up and carry you to term.
There are a lot of online classes these days, free and open to the public, where you could find out if programming is right for you. All it would take is a little time and you can do it from home rather than having to commit to going to class every week.
I like the software gig I’ve got but I’m working hard to try to become an author. I like writing fiction a lot more than writing test cases. But it pays less and is harder to break into so for now I’ll keep the day job :)
A Danish woman was held at knife point, beaten and gang-raped in the centre of New Delhis backpacker district after she asked a group of young men for directions back to her hotel.

She should start making party plans...
Who would believe
You were a beauty indeed
When the days get shorter and the nights get long
Lie awake when the rain comes
Nobody will know, when you’re old
When you’re old, nobody will know
That you was a beauty, a sweet sweet beauty
A sweet sweet beauty, but stone stone cold

Thank you! I’m sure a lot has changed since coding PL1 on ancient Zenith computers. Lol!
I did download Alice onto my laptop for my 11 yr old a month ago, but we haven’t played with it yet.
Who would want to? She sound exceptionally selfish and no doubt that extends to the bedroom as well.
Yup. She enjoys volunteering and being a Grandma.
Her hard work paid off financially - and she is secure that way & very generous.
But I think there was this recognition that one can be forgotten quite quickly at the office.
Your family and friends? They will never forget you.
Don’t be silly, the world will continue to be populated by the kids two gay men raise.
Oh...
I am not proud I married a Norwegian just thankful.
