Among the Executive Orders under consideration by the Obama Administration is one that would revoke the Redskins football team trademark.
Every right-thinking person agrees that using the name Redskins for a football team is offensive, Press Secretary Jay Carney maintained. We have tried every manner of persuasion to try to get the team owners to willingly drop the use of this name. Rather than let the travesty linger on, the President is using his executive authority to unilaterally revoke the teams trademark rights to the name.
What this means is that anyone would be enabled to produce Redskin-themed merchandise without having to pay royalties to the team, Carney explained. If they wont do the right thing for the right reason, maybe once they lose their revenue stream from jerseys, mugs, and the like it will inspire them to do so.
While the revocation of trademarks doesnt seem to be one of the enumerated powers of the president, Carney insisted that the Constitutions insure domestic tranquility clause was sufficient to authorize the proposed executive action. It is only a matter of time before groups offended by the name create domestic disturbances, Carney predicted. To forestall this outbreak the President is within his authority to remove the provocation.
if you missed any of this week's other semi-news/semi-satire posts you can find them at...

He could ‘repeal’ it, which apparently means “enact something entirely new” in todays use of the word.
Just change it to “The Washington Thin-Skins”? LOL
All the owner of the team has to do is say
“Show me where you have any authority granted to you under Executive Powers in the U.S. Constitution to own a corporation, and thus fire a CEO, or own the Redskins team, and thus tell me what to do about the Redskins trademark.”
Obama isn’t Corporate-owner in chief. The 1872 “rule” is Unconstitutional.
But I do get what you say. I wouldn’t doubt that her would try it, even though this is satire.
Sorry...Obama firing that CEO still irks me... Sorry to step on your satirical thread and all.
The Washington Beer-O-Craps
The Washington Paper Pushers
The Washington Tyrants
The Washington Traitors
The Washington Enemies of Freedom
I could think of a million names...
You know next they will go after the “Browns”
Carney insisted that the Constitutions insure domestic tranquility
This is NOT NAZI like, this IS NAZI. This is OBVIOUSLY self-serving “reasoning”. The speed with which they are claiming greater and UTTERLY unconstiturtional power is spellbinding.
Gonna’ hafta’ get off our asses sooner or later...

Oh, I see ‘satire’. The lack of surprise or recognoition of satire upon reading such idiocy is notable.
I am a right thinking person.. and I find the name Obama offensive...
isn’t one of Congresses enumerated powers the authority to regulate patents, copyrights, trademarks? Seems Obama is encroaching on Congressional powers again.
Show me where you have any authority granted to you under Executive Powers in the U.S. Constitution to own a corporation, and thus fire a CEO,”
You have forgotten how he fired the President of GM?
What makes this kind of satire piece sardonic is the fact that we know Obama and the anti-freedom leftists that support him are absolutely capable of doing what the fake story outlines. Too often under Obama, what is satire today becomes the ugly truth, tomorrow.

I said that it was satire in post #4, and that I was sorry to have stepped on his thread.....but I had to. Couldn’t help myself.
No, and I stated such in my previous post. I know that he had no authority to do what he did.
I guess the times have changed but I can only remember the rage I felt at being (temporarily) banned from this site for posting from the onion and other such place.
I love satire, and you got me again.
The boy has the pen and phone to do it!
Taking a page from countries that plaster nasty images like black lungs on packs of cigarettes the administration announced today an effort to force all junk food makers to put a picture of Michelle Obama on their packages.Jay Carney explained "You can't eat while gagging. Fresh fruits and vegetables are exempt, so people will be encouraged by this to eat healthier."
There will be several different images used at random to ensure that people do not get too accustomed to it.
"This is highly unconstitutional" said Mark Levin "There is a ban on cruel and unusual punishment"
There is no telling how long it will take to work its way through the courts.
