Former Attorney General and current U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal is calling on United Parcel Service to issue refunds to customers whose gifts did not arrive in time for Christmas.

“I am disappointed to learn that so many consumers in Connecticut and across the country made purchases this holiday season expecting their gifts to arrive in time for Christmas, but instead were left empty-handed,” the Democratic senator from Connecticut said in a press release.

Not a problem for me - my wife’s birthday is the 31st. Anything I get after Christmas I can save for that!

What about holding Obamacare accountable for not delivering the product Obama and other Democrats promised, you idiot, Blumenthal?!

Maybe if the mayor gets rid of those high toll bridge charges then UPS and Fedex won’t have to take the long way around to get to their destinations.

” Most people had to wait for that Christmas bonus to do their shopping. Most are living paycheck to paycheck.”

I disagree. They’re morons who ordered late. I know as my best bud runs one of the biggest stores on Amazon in his niche and due to these idiots complaining so many times, he removed the express option from his store so everything runs UPS ground (most).

“A friend ordered her package 3 weeks ago. It didn’t arrive by Christmas. So it’s not just procrastinators.”

I can’t imagine that a 3 week delay is UPS’s fault.

It doesn’t matter when it was ordered, when was it handed off to UPS?

Was it sent book rate?

I have trouble believing no one has complained about the USPS.

USPS Express Mail is subcontracted to FedEX. We experienced serious service failures last week [Buffalo/Rochester] due to FedEX planes arriving up to six hours late. So, complain about the Postal Service if you like, but in this case it was still FedEX.

wasn’t FedEx who dropped the package over the fence and drove away

Idjit. UPS corporate policy is, upon request, to issue a refund to every shipper who was guaranteed a delivery date that wasn't made.

Too many packages into a system that couldn’t handle the load. It’s like blaming the water company because your toilet backed up.

I know several UPS over-the-road drivers and a few delivery drivers. Amazon dumped tons of orders on UPS over the weekend and Monday morning. Many of those packages were for the PRIME accounts.

UPS had extra people to try to handle it but too many drivers ran out of their Federally mandated hours and were legally not allowed to drive. That is where much of this fiasco occurred.
