Orwellian Denver Post Edits “Socialist” Out Of Classmate’s Description Of Arapahoe Shooter

It’s one of the most blatant examples of Soviet-style media disinformation and manipulation I’ve ever seen, here in the West, in my life: A prominent, big-city newspaper deliberately distorting/omitting a salient detail of an important news story, in order to provide cover for the evil school of economic thought that their editors share with yet another crazed, violent attacker of innocents.

It’s bad enough that we’ve already seen numerous examples of the democrat-run mainstream media trying to smear the Tea Party & conservatives by falsely, shamelessly attempting to associate various mass-shooters and terrorists with conservative philosophy and politics (while, in fact, they are almost invariably leftist, Obama-supporting democrats who carry out such attacks).

But this time we have someone who knew the shooter, a classmate, going on record to explicitly identify the madman’s political orientation as being the same as that largely held by those in the liberal media, those who usually vilify and smear the Right–and the newspaper reporting on it shamelessly censors the information, the day after it is initially printed.

The article in question, first published last Friday in The Denver Post, deals specifically with the political philosophy of school shooter Karl Pierson. Titled, “Arapahoe gunman held strong political beliefs, classmates said,” it features various statements from students who knew Pierson, concerning his worldview on economics and politics.

When The Post first ran the story, as written by the article’s authors Zahira Torres and Yesenia Robles, a key remark from one of Pierson’s classmates was reported.

This was the initial version:

Thomas Conrad, who had an economics class with the gunman, described him as a very opinionated Socialist.

A day later, whoever controls the levers at The Denver Post took out the word “socialist” from their edited, updated version of the piece:

Thomas Conrad, who had an economics class with the gunman, described him as very opinionated.

When challenged, on Twitter, about the edited version of the story, the senior news editor of The Denver Post, Lee Ann Colacioppo, Tweeted this pathetic reply:

“We decided not to have another student apply a label to the shooter–a label the student likely didn’t even understand ..”

There ensued a storm of dozens and dozens of Tweets and counter-Tweets between Colacioppo and several others.

Typical, isn’t it? How often we hear socialists and communists insist that their critics “don’t even know what socialism/communism is”?

Most reading this know all too well what the true nature of socialism is, and we also know the score where most of the dinosaur media is concerned.

The liberal democrat socialists who comprise 85% (self-identifying surveys confirm this) of the editorial and reporting staffs of most major media outlets have perfected their under-handed craft to a high art over the decades. We’re kind of used to it by now.

Fortunately, the internet and the alternative/new media has made it so much easier to bust them, and to spread the word when they get caught red-handed. So, help spread the word!

I stopped buying the fish wrap 30 years ago,

when they stopped carrying ads for gun shows.

The Denver Post is a laughing stock amongst CO residents. It is made fun of daily by every conservative talk show in the state. (There is only one lib talk show station left...and it’s struggling to keep both of its listeners.)

Those who want to hear derision heaped upon the unfortunate “joke journalists” should dial in KNUS in the mornings on the net. Peter Boyles does an outstanding job of exposing them for the idiots they are.

“We decided not to have another student apply a label to the shooter–a label the student likely didn’t even understand ..”

********
The “label” came from a fellow student in an ECONOMICS class. Anyone studying economics, even at a low level, would have at least a basic understanding of the underlying philosophy of socialism. The editor is just making excuses and covering up important information about the shooter’s background and political views.

They know exactly what they’re doing - they write some leading adjectives but don’t complete the quote. The low information people out there will fill in the blanks with tea party right winger stereotypes, especially in this case with talk about him being “very opinionated” and with “strong views on gun laws.” Well he USED a gun, so therefore he must be an NRA right winger.

Someday when the country gets back on track it would be only fitting to see journalists get what they deserve and be examples used in educating the next generation of Americans how close the country came to destruction because of their seditionist practices.

From TV newsrooms to editorial staffs at papers there is a hard working gang of followers hell bent on tearing down the established heritage of America and rebuilding it into something they have no vision of and no concept of. Yet every day their goal is to attack the country that gives them the right to do so.

In many parts of the world they would have been hanged by now.

The Driveby that I heard when the shooting was first reported was that the shooter had “Strong political views”.

Leaves the listener to imagine that it might be TEA Partier or a Patriot instead of some slobbering Leftist.

We’ve all known about “bias in the media” for a long time. I got the word back during the Carter Administration. The only question I had was, “Why is journalism ideologically monolithic?” and ”Why is journalism ideologically leftist?”

It took me a decade or more to hit on the idea that the leftist slant typical of journalism was explicable by reference to Journalism’s slogans, “If it bleeds, it leads,” “No news is good news (because good news 'isn’t news’),” and “There’s nothing more worthless than yesterday’s newspaper (IOW, “meet your deadline!’)” The first two of these dicta mandate that journalism will tend to be negative, the third implies that journalism will tend to be superficial. The conclusion is that journalism inherently tends to be cynical, hence not conservative.

The next point that became clear - after a shockingly long time - was that the telegraph - specifically the Associated Press newswire - was instrumental in homogenizing journalism. This can easily be understood by reference to
People of the same trade seldom meet together, even for merriment and diversion, but the conversation ends in a conspiracy against the public, or in some contrivance to raise prices. - Adam Smith, Wealth of Nations
When you recognize that the AP newswire is a continuous virtual meeting of all the major journalism institutions in the US - and not for “merriment or diversion” but exactly about business - you can readily see why wire service journalism could devolve into go-along-and-get-along ideological conformity in “a conspiracy against the public.” A conspiracy, that is, to make cynicism seem mainstream, and to promote the conceit that journalists are a priestly class of “objective" wise men.

The politicians who go along with journalism - by promoting journalism's theme that criticism is a higher calling than performance - get positive labels such as “progressive” or “liberal” or “moderate.” Politicians who promote the theme that performance of socially necessary services and production is a higher calling than criticism get negative labels such as “right wing” and “conservative.”

If journalism is objective, we knew that George Zimmerman was a murderer and it was a waste of time to conduct a trial where some other outcome was possible. If journalism is objective, there is no reason for elections where the public votes for our government officials; the “conservative” should never attain office. If you don’t believe that, you understand that the conceit of journalistic objectivity is profoundly subversive of democratic principle.
